Lady GaGa’s 25th birthday present – red slippers Dorothy wore in ‘The Wizard Of Oz’

Saying that her biggest birthday wish was to see her fans, aka little monsters, healthy and happy, Lady GaGa blew out the six candles on her red 25th birthday cake during her Monday performance at Staples Center in Los Angeles, revealing the birthday present she’d received earlier that day.

Lady GaGa was given Judy Garland’s original ruby red slippers that the actress wore in The Wizard Of Oz. During her speech GaGa said she had always wanted to get those slippers because of the bullying experience she had in the 8th grade. Lady GaGa auditioned for the part of Dorothy in the school play but lost the role to a bully that was a senior, getting a part in the chorus instead.

I wanted to be Dorothy so bad,” GaGa told the crowd. “I was in 8th grade and she was a senior. I definitely deserved to get it, but I didn’t get it. I remember she would speak in the dressing room while she was getting ready, I was one of the people in the chorus, the worst role. She used to pour Coca Cola on her shoes to keep her from slipping on stage. She would pour Coca Cola on her shoes and look at me and say…’just in case I slip.’ On behalf of myself and all of those bullied around the world, now these fucking ruby slippers are mine.

When you don’t feel like Dorothy today, maybe you feel like someone on the chorus or the Scare Crow or maybe you feel like the Tin Man or the Wicked Witch – just know you will have opportunities in your real life to change things and maybe someone, somebody will hand you a pair of ruby slippers.”

FYI, some sources say GaGa was also given a sex doll for her birthday. The doll was custom made for the singer.
