Kim Kardashian is the crazy Barbie
Kim channeled her inner Barbie for the latest cover of Australian Kurv Magazine. Going blonde for the occasion, Kim donned a series of sexy outfits to show her Barbie-worthy curves for the cover photoshoot made by photographer Tony Duran.
Kim called Tony and suggested taking part in the shoot that celebrated Barbie’s 50th anniversary with the first ever collaboration between Mattel and Kurv Magazine.
Kim looked gorgeous for the shoot and I loved her hair, it was crazy. Her face looked porcelain perfect, just like Barbie’s.
What Barbie represents to me is a sort of a timeline of women in American history- all packaged up in a bit over the top-almost unachievable figure. A bit of Jessica rabbit does the history channel!” Tony Duran said. “In my mind-Barbie is at best- a blonde-so when the outrageously curvy Kim Kardashian called and said she was going blonde for the week, it was game on…”
According to him, Kim was the “right girl that represented the type of image I wanted”, to balance many sides of Barbie to make it a fashion shoot not a caricature.
Duran said:
Kim’s hourglass figure was the basis of the story and different interpretations of her blonde hair showcased the character. We tended to go extreme with the hair to give it a bit of a push editorially, but keeping the classic side of the shoot shining through. We went with vintage pieces to authentically represent each character fashion wise.”
I loooooved the shoot.
What is Kim’s better image – Barbie or vampire?
