Johnny Depp’s directorial debut in music video
I love Johnny Depp as a talented actor, doting father, good musician, and now a promising director.
Back in September 2009 Johnny directed a music video for Babybird for their single ‘Unlovable.’ The video shot in black-and-white is based on the short story An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, written by Ambrose Bierce in 1890.
[Spoiler alert!]
The video follows the original story in detail and tells us about a Confederate sympathizer during the Civil War that’s condemned to die by hanging upon the Owl Creek Bridge.
This particular version was just a bit too intense for the folks over at Yahoo’s Standards and Practices department,” Babybird’s label said. “However, we believe that this version gives the viewer the true vision intended by both the artist and director.”
The video is intense, too. Up to the end you never know what’s gonna happen in the next few seconds.
Good job, Johnny!

He also played guitar on the track.
