January Jones Admits She’s Eating Her Own Placenta!
January Jones is eating her own placenta – she takes strength from eating dried capsules of her baby’s afterbirth. The 34-year-old Mad Men actress is single mother to her seven-month-old son Xander Dane. January has a very busy professional schedule and returned to filming almost immediately after giving birth. The crew provided a special room for January, her baby and the family’s caregiver and the actress thoroughly appreciates the gesture. January’s family caregiver has ensured that the actress find the nourishment she needs to remain vigorous on the go.
January Jones has revealed that she ate her own placenta after giving birth to baby Xander!
January, who gave birth to her son in September, is so impressed by the natural booster that she is urging all other mothers to do it, too! Geez!
I have a great doula who makes sure I’m eating well, with vitamins and teas, and with placenta capsulation. Your placenta gets dehydrated and made into vitamins.”
It’s something I was very hesitant about, but we’re the only mammals who don’t ingest our own placentas. It’s not witch-crafty or anything! I suggest it to all moms!”
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. We may be mammals hon, but we’re not animals. There are all the right vitamins and minerals to be found without having to resort to eating one’s own waste products. The placenta is just that, it’s been utilized and is purged from the body as a byproduct. What a ridiculous way to gain some notoriety.
January – who refuses to name Xander’s father – went back to work soon after her son’s birth but was grateful he was able to come to the ‘Mad men’ set with her.
She said:
I think I went back to set six or seven weeks after, so he was really little. I had the baby and the baby nurse in their own room so I could go back and feed him every two hours.”
If I felt like he needed me, or if he needed to eat, or even if I just needed a squeeze because I was having separation issues, I would go back and see him. It was such a blessing that I wasn’t separated from him.”
January found the most difficult part about working and tending to an infant to be a profound lack of sleep.
It was hard to work long days and then go home and not sleep. It’s getting harder, not easier, so I’m a little concerned!”
Errr! Thanks to her I’m not hungry anymore. That’s stupid and mean! Okay, I heard that drinking urine is helpful for a body good, too. So what? Nobody would catch me eating anything that came out of my body! Geez, January, take the placenta home in a bag for the dog, if you wish. But why on Earth would you eat it? Yuck!
And.. did she think this was something we all needed to know..?
