Isla Fisher is against body – fascism
Isla Fisher is a 32 year old actress, the vivacious, red-haired fiancee of Sasha Baron Cohen, aka Borat aka Ali G aka Bruno.
Australian girl from Home & Away has not forgotten her roots, and this month she is the cover girl on the Australian edition of men’s magazine FHM.
Sporting enviable curves in a white swimming costume, Isla Fisher admits she owes her slender figure to good genes:
I have never been a big fan of working out and I’ve never been a sporty person – I was always more of a book worm.
I know it sounds like a cliché, but I’ve been blessed with good genes. My mum is little, and I’m fortunate that I don’t like eating junk food. I just don’t like the taste of it.”
Isla remembers how she was criticized for putting on weight when she was expecting her daughter Olive Cohen:
When I was pregnant, I remember someone wrote on a blog that I had gained too much weight. I remember being really shocked that even during something as incredible and beautiful as pregnancy, you are still subject to body fascism.”
About her next movie Confessions of a Shopaholic:
It’s based on the bestselling novels and it taps into the collective consumer conscious and it’s very funny. I play Rebecca, who can’t stop shopping.”
Everyone loves to shop. I’ll go to a supermarket and think, ‘Oh those papayas look great!’ and before I know it I’ll be stocked up.”
