Howie, accept my condolences

Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough is mourning his father, Hoke, who died at the age of 69. He passed away Sunday morning peacefully in his sleep.

Howie’s father was a code enforcement supervisor in Orange County, Fla. Hoke Dorough was diagnosed with lung and brain cancer.

In March the boysband cancelled concerts in South Africa so that Howie and his wife Leigh could be with the father.

Howie D. is 34 and will soon move on to do the rest of the tour.

The band, which has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, recently completed the first leg of the ‘Unbreakable’ tour.

Starting in February in Japan, the 50-date tour went through Malaysia, Indonesia, China, South Korea, Australia, Mexico, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Russia.

The second leg of the tour features 26 dates in the US and Canada. It starts on July 29.

I remember how I used to not like Backstreet Boys when they were extremely popular. Now I like them a lot. The reason I was annoyed by them, was the fact that they were everywhere. It was too much of them. Funny, they remind me the days when I was going crazy for the guy who really looked like Kevin. Those cheesy songs are really a warm memory to my heart. And I will never remove my favourite tracks like ‘As Long as You Love Me’, ‘I Need You Tonight’ and ‘Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely’ from my playlist.
