Hot Zac Efron as we’ve never seen him before

Oh, this guy finally gets to look mature and seductively mannish.

Zac Efron, 21, posed for Interview‘s April issue and talked to Milk director Gus Van Sant in his interview for the publication.

Zac is looking really hot when dirty, isn’t he? It’s something different from his squeaky clean teen idol image, and it’s good for a change.

There was, like, a giant sandbox in the middle of a studio, and then I just got to roll around in the dirt for a couple of hours. I got pretty dirty by the end of it, so that was fun. It was definitely different from anything I had ever done before,” Zac said about the photoshoot.

Good to see this talented (and you can’t object it) guy doing something that’s not musical. His latest move 17 Again will hit theaters on April 17. In the flick Zac plays the main character (Matthew Perry) when he was, well, 17.

Well, I couldn’t really relate to the character in a lot of ways, so I didn’t have that to work from. I just tried to think in terms of an older guy. He’s experienced life. He’s been through a lot that I haven’t been through yet. So it was a big change from High School Musical. You know, I’ve fallen in love, and I’ve not known what I want to do with my own future-I still don’t know. But I’ve never had a daughter who I’m looking out for. I’ve never been proud of my son. I’ve never gotten a divorce. It was interesting trying to figure that out. It was definitely a change of pace,” Efron said of this new experience.

You know what’s great about this guy? He’s got something more than just looks, he’s got brain, that’s a rare thing to find these days.
