Bruno – flamboyant premiere fashion
Now that the premiere hysteria is over, we can cool down and have another look at Sacha Baron Cohen’s alter ego Bruno and his extreme premiere fashion.
From super provocative pink bodysuits to armor and bull hoofs and military hotpants, Bruno’s promotional tour will not be soon forgotten.
In case you forget, this is what I’m taking about.
Sacha Baron Cohen started his promotional tour for Bruno in Europe on June 15, 2009 hitting France and amazing Paris citizens with his super sexy gold outfit of suspended hotpants and matching color hat. Lip gloss and eye make up completed the flamboyant fashion journalist image.
Military boots added some tough man vibe to his completely pacifist look.
On June, 17 Sacha Baron Cohen played homage to Britain hitting London dressed up in the dare take on Queen’s guards uniform of a bearskin hat, midriff-baring military jacket and leather hotpants, with an army of identically-dressed muscular hunks.
June, 18 marked the Madrid stop. Bruno’s costume for this premiere is definitely my favorite [a great idea for a Halloween party this year].
Dressed up as a black corrida bull with horns, tail, hoofs and easily noticeable bull genitals accompanied by two muscle-bound bullfighters Bruno looked terrific!
During the premiere Bruno announced that there was to be an after party in his hotel room after the screening, to which “all the hot guys can come”. Hilarious!
Bruno’s next stop was in the city of sin, Amsterdam, Holland, on June 19. The photocall was held in the famous red light district of the city with Bruno arriving in a cropped tuxedo and red thong. Well, not many people actually paid any attention to the tuxedo, red thong was the center of everyone’s attention, really.
Berlin’s June 21 premiere was surely the most provocative. Bruno and his back up team were all dressed up in knitted pink bodysuits with anatomically correct knitted genitals.
The funny thing about the photocall posturing was that one of the models was dressed up as a tranny.
Bet nobody had ever done anything like that in front of the Brandenburg Gate before.
Bruno’s next stop was Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on June, 25. Striding a bedazzled army tank Cohen’s alter ego opted for his trademark leather hotpants and cropped sleeveless military jacket all peppered with medals and orders.
Loved his boots.
Comedian was a knight in shining armor as Bruno arrived in Sydney, Australia on June, 29. Loved the metal tie.
During the photocall Bruno played a little schoolboy in black shorts, grey vest and massage bag. The way he pulled his socks high to his knee did remind me of little boys. His green cap looked like that of Peter Pan, that was cute.
It’s cool Cohen turned movie premiere into a show, wish more films had such flamboyant, unpredictable and ever-surprising premieres!
Bruno hits theatres on July 10, 2009.
