Billy Ray Cyrus: “I’m scared for Miley”

Miley Cyrus‘ father and fellow Hannah Montana star Billy Ray Cyrus talked to GQ about his famous daughter and her recent rebellious behavior saying he was “scared for her” and wished he could have been more of a parent to Cyrus, 18, than a friend and taken more control of her life when he still could do so.

She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger,” Billy Ray Cyrus said. “I know she’s 18, but I still feel like as her daddy I’d like to try to help. Take care of her just a little bit, to at least get her out of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm. Stop the insanity just for a minute.”

Though admitting he wasn’t the best farther to his famous daughter he wasn’t the only one to blame for her crazy behavior and highly-publicized scandals like bong-smocking, pole-dancing and risque photos leaked online.

Every time something happened in Miley’s career, every time the train went off the track, if you will, her people would put me out there. Well, I took it, because I’m her daddy, and that’s what daddies do,” Cyrus explained.

In his interview Billy also blamed the show Hannah Montana for destroying his family (“I’d erase it all in a second if I could”).

Is Billy kind of apologizing for Miley’s life in this GQ interview? Too little, too late.
