Angelina back to work as UN Ambassador
Brangelina are truly back. Having six kids to take care of doesn’t stop Ms. Jolie from her major UNHCR activities.
This week, October 21-23, Angelina Jolie made her first post pregnancy trip to Afghanistan as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador. The trip’s aim was to support refugees who are returning home.
The actress was brought to tears witnessing the refugees’ poor living conditions in the country. Jolie commented that “the courage, resilience and quiet dignity of returnee families rebuilding their lives against the kind of adversity few of us can imagine shows the human spirit at its best.” She appealed for long-term commitments to Afghanistan and greater humanitarian support for the population as the harsh Afghan winter approaches, the UN Refugee Agency reported.
The video below is touching. Angelina narrates in the footage describing her feelings and citing refugees she spoke to during the trip. Glad to realize, people like Angie are here to help those who desperately need their help.
