Madonna Has No Idea Who One Direction Are

One Direction might be taking the world by storm with girls screaming at all corners of the world, but Madonna has admitted that she hasn’t got a clue who they are. The 53-year-old star is appearing on the UK’s Daybreak, where she was asked whether she likes One Direction and their music. With fans including Rihanna, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and even Michelle Obama, it’s a bit of a surprise that ‘down with the kids’ Madge hasn’t got a clue about the 1D boys. She said:

That’s a pop group, right? Sorry!”

Learning that 1D are in fact a pop group, who actually scored a number one in the US with their debut album, she said:

I haven’t seen them yet, no, sorry. Slap my hand.”

Madonna was surprised when asked about One Direction.

Madonna revealed that she wanted the Someone Like You star to perform with her at the Super Bowl earlier this year, while the singer was recovering from throat surgery. She gushed:

I would love to meet her, I think she’s brilliant, I love her.”

I bet Lourdes knows who One Direction are! Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson recently made history by topping the US billboard charts with their debut album Up All Night.Their debut single What Makes You Beautiful also became the highest debut for a UK act in the US singles chart for almost 14 years after entering the Billboard Hot 100 at number 28. The band have been busy cracking America with appearances on Saturday Night Live and the Today Show but Madge doesn’t seem to have noticed.

The guys are able to drive every single female in the world wild…

Zayn’s got a little bit more of a bad boy rep than the other boys – just makes him all the cuter in girls’ eyes…

Even though the boys are busy pretty much all day, every day… they still cope to find several minutes to take snaps with their fans. Good on you, guys!

They’ve managed to perfect that stereotypical ‘boyband stance’.

We can’t imagine any guy pulling off PJ bottoms better than Louis Tomlinson!

They always look like they have bundles of energy and are loving life every second of the day…we want whatever they’ve been having!

One Direction were recently stopped topless (swoon!) whilst on a break in Australia…who knew they were hiding such bods?!

They have the ability to look fully co-ordinated in their ‘dressed up’ attire…

That Brits moment when the camera showed the boys surrounded by alcohol was priceless. We want to party with you One Direction!

Just because no-one can pull off a white t-shirt like Harry Styles…

The guys are rarely snapped without at least one of the other band members by their side.

Whether it be blasting out the ballads or simply the catchy songs you can’t help but have a dance to – these boys do it best!
