Retro Brunette: Emma Watson in ‘My Week With Marilyn’
In her first movie after the Harry Potter franchise, My Week With Marilyn, Emma Watson plays Lucy, a wardrobe assistant on set of Marilyn Monroe’s movie The Prince and The Showgirl.
The movie is based on Colin Clark’s memoir that describes Lucy as “one of the prettiest little girls I have ever seen in my life… slim as a wand, curly brown hair, huge brown eyes and a wide cheeky grin.” Also in his book Clark (portrayed by Eddie Redmayne in the movie) notes that Lucy kissed “like an angel.”
In the first movie still featuring Emma Watson she looks much older her age in a brunette wig and retro styled clothes, but she’s still very cute, as always.
For ten years [Emma Watson] has been this schoolgirl in the Harry Potter films and now you see her as a woman for the first time,” producer Harvey Weinstein said.
Emma filmed her My Week With Marilyn scenes in early October this year, and the movie is set for release some time in 2011.
My Week With Marilyn stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe, Kenneth Branagh as Laurence Olivier, Eddie Redmayne as Colin Clark, Dame Judi Dench as Dame Sybil Thorndike, Dominic Cooper as Marilyn Monroe’s business partner Milton Greene.
