Lavish promotion for 2012
2012 is an epic adventure movie premiering November 13, 2009 and starring John Cusack, Oliver Platt, Danny Glover, and Woody Harrelson. The film is directed by The Day After Tomorrow creator and generally follows in this film’s footsteps telling a story of a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and the struggle of the survivors.
What is great about the movie is its promotion campaign. Sony Pictures is generously spending tons of money on the film. They even created a special webpage and a special institute to deal with the disaster issue. The Institute For Human Continuity has determined there is a 94% chance that the world will face disaster in 2012, and demonstrates various scenarios including death by sun spot, Planet X and something called “crustal displacement.”
If you don’t know the site is created to promote the movie you can actually buy what’s written there. But now you know it’s not true! Hope it’s not true.
This idea with the site nad the Institute’s something original in movie promotion. Good job, Sony Pictures. I wonder if it’s worth it. Is it?
Here’s the 2012 teaser. Enjoy!
