Friday movie battle: I Love You, Man vs. Knowing
Ok, this is it the battle of all time. Comedy vs. action thriller, which one’s gonna win? Box office stats will show.
A light and jolly comedy or a dark apocalyptic thriller? You choose but here’s something to tease you.
I Love You, Man stars Paul Rudd (Knocked Up, The 40 Year Old Virgin), new 2009 MTV Movie Awards host Andy Samberg and Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and shows us how difficult it might get for a guy to find his best man for the wedding. Get ready to enjoy a series of funny man-dates and even some guy-guy kissing with a tongue.
Think this film is perfect for watching with your best friend. It shows how much friendship means to us and how little we appreciate it sometimes.
Unlike the optimistic I Love You, Man, Knowing is a more serious flick. Get ready to see a lot of action and typical blockbuster stuff. What I like about Knowing is that it tries to find the initial cause of all major disasters.
In 1958, as part of the dedication ceremony for a new elementary school, a group of students was asked to draw pictures to be stored in a time capsule. A girl filled her sheet of paper with rows of apparently random numbers instead. 50 years later a group of scientists led by John Koestler (Nicholas Cage) discovers that those random numbers are actually dates of all big disasters of the past 50 years. And what’s more improbable, it contains dates of future ones as well.
Comedy or action, that’s the question….
