Avatar breaks Titanic’s record
According to 20th Century Fox, James Cameron’s Avatar is officially the highest worldwide grosser passing Titanic‘s record set in 1997.
In 1997 Cameron-created Titanic earned $1.843 billion worldwide. As of January 26, 2010, Avatar grossed as much as $1.859 billion in worldwide revenues.
Funny enough, but James stands behind both of the movies.
National movie experts predict the sci-fi flick to surpass the domestic record of $600.8 million and reach the $2 billion mark worldwide.
Earlier this month Cameron said he was planning the Avatar sequel but the film wasn’t set to come out soon so “don’t start going to buy your tickets,” the director joked.
