This girl may only be 14 but she knows how to dress - little black dress and purple statement shoes.

Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Sophie Okonedo and Dakota Fanning attended the world premiere at the Roy Thomson Hall, part of the Toronto Film Festival, as waiting fans cheered.

South Carolina, 1964, and all cannot be well, can it? It is a young girl’s coming-of-age story, featuring interracial friendship and beekeeping. Should be worth your time!

While fans wait until Monday night to watch all of the action at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, Hollywood’s hottest celebs were on-hand for the taping of the annual awards show at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles on Sunday night, August 3.

No one, but Hannah Montana starlet Miley Cyrus played host at the 10th annual running of the event, which showered celebrities with dozens of surfboard trophies in film, TV, music, sports and fashion categories. She, herself, won in all of the three categories.

Whereas other award shows dole out conventional trophies, the Teen Choice Awards hand out surfboards. The perennial Teen Choice champion Justin Timberlake - who has won 21 surfboards (more than anyone else) over the years - has managed to snag three more nods this year, didn’t show up.

But there were other celebrities who showed up even if there were no chances for them to win.

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian keeps it simply chic shining in a silver Bradley Bayou strapless dress with matching metallic peep-toes.

She was nominated for two surfboards this year: Choice TV: Celebrity Reality and Choice TV: Female Reality/Variety Star. In the category of reality star, she went up against Dancing with the Stars’s Kristi Yamaguchi, America’s Next Top Model’s Whitney Thompson and The Hills stars Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag.

Soccer stud David Beckham picked up the surfboard for Choice Male Athlete. He was accompanied by his wife Victoria to beat out golfer Tiger Woods, footballer Eli Manning and basketball star Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

Stop-Loss actor Channing Tatum picked up a surfboard for Choice Movie Actor in a Drama. The 28-year-old actor beat out Into The Wild’s Emile Hirsch, Rendition’s Jake Gyllenhaal, We Own The Night’s Mark Wahlberg and Stop-Loss’s Ryan Phillippe.

Infantile Mariah Carey performed at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards in a very “interesting” outfit. I think it fuckin sucks.

Forbes has released their latest list for the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, and this year’s winner is Will Smith. Last year Will made $80 million beating Johnny Depp who made $74 million, and Eddie Murphy, who made $55 million.

The list is based on who banks the most between June 1st 2007 through June 1st 2008.

There are heroes. There are superheroes. And then there’s Hancock. Hancock is a superhero comedy co-written and directed by Peter Berg (Lions for Lambs). Hancock (Will Smith) is a misfit alcoholic superhero who generally does more bad then good though not intentionally. He has fallen out of favor with the public and enters into a questionable relationship with the wife (Charlize Theron) of the PR professional (Jason Bateman) who tries to help rehabilitate Hancock cause the latter is the only one who can save the city from numerous disasters.

Kit Kittredge: An American Girl starring Abigail Breslin in this period piece about growing up during the Great Depression. The film is based on the hugely popular American Girl book series and built around a modern-day line of very expensive of dolls. The film’s all-star ensemble cast includes two-time Oscar nominee Joan Cusack (In & Out, Working Girl), Jane Krakowski (Ally McBeal), Golden Globe nominee Chris O’Donnell (Batman & Robin), Julia Ormond (Legends of the Fall), and two-time Golden Globe winner Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada).

Tell no one is a French dramatic thriller to make your heart beat faster. Pediatric Alex Beck (Francois Cluzet) is still mourning for his wife (Mary-Josee Croze) who was savagely murdered 8 years ago. He receives a mail with a link. He clicks it and sees a woman’s face in the crowd. It’s real time filming. And it’s his wife’s face there. Is his wife still alive? And why does she want him to tell no one?

Another star-studded party was held by Sir Elton John yesterday in his Windsor home. Hardly had celebs said good bye to Nelson Mandela in Hyde Park as they were invited to Elton John’s 10-th Annual White Tie & Tiara Ball raising money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The Ball is an annual event hosted by Elton John and David Furnish and one of the premier fundraising events of the UK. This year the ball marks its 10th anniversary and the 15th anniversary of the Elton John AIDS Foundation in the United Kingdom. This year’s sponsors include Chopard and OK! Magazine. The Ball has already raised more than £26.9 million (over $53m) since the first event in 1998.

The event is famous for its wealth of A list celebrities attracted. This year’s list included former U.S. president Bill Clinton, Sir Michael Caine, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Elizabeth Hurley with husband Arun Nayar, The O.C. star Mischa Barton, Kelly Osbourne, Rob Steward with his family, model-of-the-moment Agyness Deyn, Chris Tucker, American Idol judge Simon Cowell, Natalie Imbruglia, and many others.

Guests looked gorgeous. Jada Pinkett Smith was wearing a tight black gown with a very long train making her look just amazing against her really stylish hubby.

As for Liz Hurley she chose a stunning aquamarine strapless gown and a diamond tiara to make her look like a real princess (or a queen?).

Mischa Barton was wearing a lemon green dress with a black lacy inset and embroidered headband making her look flirty and girly. I liked the headband, not the dress.

Mischa wasn’t along to pick a headband. Model Elle MacPherson dazzled in a gold evening look, beaded gold headband and vintage embroidered shawl that made her look hippy but really glam.

Eva Herzigova was wearing a very lovely Gracian-style white gown with a yellow-brown chain ornament. Cute.

Naomi Campbell showed up too.

Generally, every year the party has a theme. “The theme this year is ‘beach party’,” says Elton’s longtime partner David Furnish. “So, we’ve got Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys playing. The aim every year is to get people to say it was the best one yet. It’s still a party in your home and Elton and I like to shake everybody’s hand personally. There is no us and them.”

Though it was a beach party, most celebs preferred more classical glam style. I personally liked Natalie Imbruglia’s black dress that stressed her slender body really well.

Elton John and David Furnish invited 620 guests who had to pay $6000 a ticket to raise even more money than last year though last year they raised $12 m at the Las Vegas party.

Nelson Mandela along with the world’s most loved celebs have broken silence on Mugabe’s regime at Mandela’s party.

The fundraising dinned welcomed his close friends: world famous socialites as well as human rights activists. Among the guests there were big names like Oprah Winfrey, Nicole Scherzinger, Uma Thurman and many others.

But on a short address, Zimbabwe merited only a brief mention in a list of the world’s ills.

For the speech Nelson Mandela said:

The world remains beset by so much human suffering, poverty and deprivation. It is in your hands to make our world a better one for all, especially the poor, vulnerable and marginalized.

We look back at much human progress, but we sadly note so much failing as well.

In our time we spoke out on the situation in Palestine and Israel, and that conflict continues unabated. We warned against the invasion of Iraq, and observe the terrible suffering in that country.

We watch with sadness the continuing tragedy in Darfur. Nearer to home we had seen the outbreak of violence against fellow Africans in our own country and the tragic failure of leadership in our neighboring Zimbabwe.

It is within this context that we should also see the plight of those affected by HIV and Aids. It is now in the hands of your generations to help rid the world of such suffering.”

Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith were just two boldfaced names to fete the prebirthday dinner party held in Hyde Park. Also on the list: Forest Whitaker, Kim Cattrall, Leona Lewis and Denzel Washington.

Amy Winehouse was supposed to attend as well; unfortunately she’s been hospitalized and is still advised to stay in bed. For the concert though, she will perform at her first post-hospitalized performance.

Another troubled girl Naomi Campbell attended the event. She looked oh-so-preety, and most important, she smiled.

Unexpectedly going up the stage to pick up the gong my favorite Johnny got the biggest cheer of the night. He even struggled to give an acceptance speech. Best Comedic Performance went to Johnny Depp for playing Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

The Hollywood legend also scooped Best Villain for his role in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. All he said was:

I’m not really sure how this happened. You can ask anyone, I’m not a very funny person.”

At the MTV Movie Awards 2008 the Best Summer Movie So Far went to Iron Man.

Transformers picked up Best Movie.

Will Smith won the Best Male Performance award for his role in I Am Legend.

The Best Female Performance was given to Ellen Page for playing the title role in Juno.

The Breakthrough Performance award went to Zac Efron for Hairspray.

The Best Fight was taken by Sean Faris vs. Cam Gigandet – Never Back Down

Amy Winehouse will perform at the 46664 Concert at Hyde Park in celebration of Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday. The show will take its place in London on June, 27th and will have stars like Annie Lennox, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, Forest Whitaker, Robert De Niro and Leona Lewis.

Tim Massey, the International Director of 46664, said in a statement:

We are delighted that Amy will be appearing at Hyde Park to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday. Amy joins an illustrious list of names showing their support for 46664 and the fight against AIDS.”

46664 is international organization fighting HIV and AIDS.

Ellen Degeneres knows how to get people talking. During her Monday talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she noted that her guest Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, have been married for 10 years which is like a myth for Hollywood couples.

“It’s like dog years when you’re married here,” she said. “That’s like 50 years, right?”

Will gave her a clear and simple answer:

What I found is divorce just can’t be an option. It’s really that simple. And I think that’s the problem with L.A. – there are so many options. So a huge part of the success for Jada and I is that we just removed the other options. We’re like listen, we’re going to be together one way or the other so we might as well try to be happy.”

DeGeneres also suggested that Smith should consider trying himself in politics for his next project – and join Barack Obama as his running mate to which Smith replied:

I do think about running for office sometimes. Right up until that Monday after the movie opens and I have a 100-percent approval rating. No politician is ever going to have that!”
