inglourious-basterds-leads-2010-critics-choice-awards-nominees

The list of nominees for the 15th annual Critics’ Choice Awards was revealed yesterday morning.

Unlike other awards ceremonies Critics’ Choice Awards welcome movies of all different genres, thus, featuring more films in the nom list than some others, like the Oscars, for instance.

This year is all about blood spilling justice and mind blowing life stories as Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Rob Marshall’s Nine lead the nominations list with 10 noms each. They’re followed by ’s Avatar (out this week) with 9 nods, The Hurt Locker and Up in the Air with five each.

The 2010 Critics’ Choice Awards will air live on January 15, 2010 at 9/8pm Central on VH1.

Critics’ Choice Awards are traditionally seen as Oscar rehearsals, so probably this is the list of possible Oscar nominees as well.

angelina-jolie-brad-pitt-moca-new-30th-anniversary-exhibition-beautiful

Some of your favorite Tinseltown citizens spent some quality time together celebrating Museum of Contemporary Art’s new 30th anniversary exhibition in Los Angeles on Saturday.

At least now we know who can ever picture themselves visitng a museum. Ok, just bitching, sorry.

Back to the glam and fashion of the night. This event became one of the few this year when we saw and together. Though looking anything but happy and affectionate, they still looked hot and glamorous.

Angie opted for a strapless black Armani Prive gown with very few accessories and pretty plain ‘do. Still pretty sexy. However Jolie should change her diet, she looks so frail!

Angelina’s partner stayed true to himself in his Tom Ford suit and hippy graying beard.

Angie wasn’t the only one to go black for the event. Singer looked terrific in a LBD that highlighted her wonderful body. Her dress is definitely my number one fashion pick of the event.

Tom Ford's directorial debut - A Single Man

Fashion is all around.

Fashion extraordinary Tom Ford presented his movie debut, A Single Man, at Venice Film Festival last week with critics generally praising his work as a director and screenplay writer.

A Single Man starring , Colin Firth and Matthew Goode is a story of a English professor who goes to LA after losing his partner.

The film is set in 1960s and is full of retro fashion details. I’m just crazy about the make up and hair!

Check out the trailer below and tell me what you think about Tom Ford the director!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt The Curious Case of Benjamin Button premiere in LA

and Cate Blanchet starring The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button premiered in Hollywood Monday night. The party was all A-list and glam. The leading stars glamed up the red carpet with other big names showing up to support them.

and Angelina Jolie were probably among the most photographed that night. They both looked blissfully happy and stunning. Angelina donned en elegant black dress, looking a bit boring against other female celebs to visit the premiere. I liked her vintage Ralph Lauren earrings and her light make up. Brad opted for a three-piece classic tuxedo. Brad’s parents were there to support their celebrity son.

The most fashionable couple David and Victoria Beckham released their new scents at Macy’s Herald Square on Friday.

Despite the rainy New York City weather, nearly 2,000 screaming fans showed up at the department store for the launch of the couple’s fragrance duo, Signature for Him and Signature for Her. The scent is the smell of succes.

David looked handsome in a striped Tom Ford suit, offered up credit to his wife, clad in a dress, saying that she was “the brains behind the fragrances.”

Unwilling to take all of the credit, Posh quickly responded by saying, “It’s great for me to be able to create a fragrance for him, but he is much more involved than he gives himself credit for. David has such amazing taste.”

But Vicky Becks says she has warned her footballer husband David Beckham that his good looks will fade one day.

Everyone says ‘God, David is so good looking’ and I’m funny, and it is cool to be funny. I tell David that looks will fade.”

She added that she loves David more now than when she met him first and that they both “compliment each other”, Victoria was quoted as saying by dailymail.co.uk.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America awards took its glam place in New York Public Library on Monday. It was plenty of stardom. Each designer had a celebrity next to him or her to make a statement of who represents their fashion vision.

wore a green see-through Proenza Schouler with patterns on top and let me tell you that looked awkward. She reminds me of the socks I got for Christmass when I was 7. Victoria Beckham put on a dress by Marc Jacobs but it didn’t help her, instead hundreds of cutout hearts made her look like Valentine’s party at the elementary school.

The only thing I liked in her outfit were those vampy black sandals with her black-and-white minidress. Posh has her own DVB clothing line and she admitted she’s not good enough for CFDA. She told People:

I’m a starter at this. I’ve got a long way to go [before I could win a CFDA award].”

And finally Eva Mendes! She wore a clean white column dress by Francisco Costa, the women’s designer at Calvin Klein. As soon as the envelope was opened Eva let out a loud yelp. Her designer won the precious award.

And surely there was Naomi Campbell and undeniably in Yves Saint Laurent black gown-like pants. She held back her tears during the somber speech by the head f organization Diane Von Furstenberg. Top designer told guests:

Tonight the world of fashion is mourning. Yves is an artist who always surprised us with his silhouette and color palettes. He was a magician who changed the way women dressed forever. Like so many great artists, his life and his work really do live on.”

Saint Laurent died from a brain tumor at the age of 71.

Diana Von Furstenberg had Eva Longoria dressed in her pink frock and gold stilettos to match the gold-beaded neckline of the hot-pink dress.

The last but not the least touch for Eva Longoria was her husband Tony Parker. Basketball player was dressed by Brooks Brothers.

The men’s designer of the year is no one else but fashion icon . In his advertisements naked women grab the crotches of clothed men.

Sexy and bold is Tom’s signature!

The crystal company Swarovski presented award to younger designers for Emerging Talent like Tory Burch, the maker of flats with her logo on the toe. She was given the award for accessories.

While that Rodarte label by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy were granted for women’s wear.

Band of Outsiders represented by Scott Sternberg got the men’s wear award. Swarowsky didn’t forget to give an award to noted Philip Crangi for his accessories.

Special awards went to designers Carolina Herrera and Dries Van Noten, and surely to Candy Pratts Price, the executive fashion director of Style.com. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg was thanked and awarded for negotiating the show in Bryant Park through 2010.

Fran Lebowitz was the evening’s emcee.

Looking glam and your outfit’s updated? Stir it up with your sun glasses, an accessory that tells a whole story of the owner. Unlike clothing and hair trends shades haven’t had major changes in the last half of decade.

Five years ago the oversized sunglasses stepped in the world of fashion bringing an era of socialite’s shades that will rule for few more years.

This year the oversized, aviators, gradient lens, plastic frames and for sure ray ban wayfarers are the hit. The only other trend I don’t like is the tortoise shell. Oh, I think it’s one of those that will make you feel ashamed later when you look back at your picture “that was 2008”. So don’t!

Now, our much loved celebrities. What do they wear? Both Kates look in style wearing plastic frames inspired by 50s. Whether they hide from paparazzi or go out to parties it is the #1 must have accessory. Of course they pick the A list designer glasses that will definitely spice up any outfit.

One of my favorite lens is gradient which goes from black to clear, top to bottom. Chanel, baby!

Another fierce look will be turquoise frame. It will look adorable in the right ensemble. Runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris make the sweet color of feminine feel a Fashion Week Frenzy, for this coming fall.

And for guys I suggest the classic Ray Bans. For risky men who know what they want.

  • Wings cut short, or sort of bdsm pleasure

  • You know I was just thinking about the things that make me vulnerable. Cause I personally hate this feeling, like being hanged in the air like being controlled from outside and unable to do my thing. Generally, who the hell was the first to come up with the idea of control? And the more important question, why do we need it? If I wanna do something I'll do it anyway and either way, and if I do it breaking some rules, escaping the CONTROL, then the feeling would just get better and the victory would just feel sweeter. So why do we need control and sort of submission it takes a long. What sort of bdsm pleasure is that supposed to give?

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

I always felt what I wanted and I always wanted that what I felt.

Being used to getting what I want I am stuck. Stuck in the position like being lost in the desert. There’s nowhere to go. I can’t deny what I feel but I also can’t afford to feel it. It’s against my beliefs and values. Hum… fuck the beliefs. I don’t care.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)
