GaGa supports Haiti

In the all Hollywood plea to help victims of Haitian earthquake that struck the country on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, Lady GaGa has announced that all money received from her Jan. 24th New York concert will be donated to help victims of the disastrous quake.

She took to her Twitter page to announce the news:

Jan 24th is GAGA FOR HELPING HAITI day. Go to www.ladygaga.com on the 24th + 100% of all merchandise purchased goes to earthquake relief. Monies will be donated immediately, spread the word around the world so we can raise as much money as possible,” she wrote ending her message with the words “Save your money. Help save a life.”

That’s not the first time Saint GaGa urges her fans to help Haitian victims. She spoke about Haitian relief while making an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show last Friday, AceShowbiz.com reported.

Lady joins celebs like Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie, Wyclef jean, Selena Gomez, Ashton Kutcher, P Diddy, Kim Kardashian, Tiger Woods and others who spread the word about the tragedy and express their full support of the Haitian relief campaign.

2009 is almost over so here comes my annual list of things, events and people that have impressed me, amazed me or upset me during the year.

BREAKTHROUGH STAR OF THE YEAR

I’m thinking Taylor Lautner and the guys from Twilight Saga: New Moon. The movie’s premiere has become one of the hottest movie events of the year, while 17 year old Taylor has become a real celebrity with great abs and biceps. From redcarpet events to hosting SNL and allegedly modeling for Giorgio Armani, this is a very special year for Lautner. And I’m not the only one who thinks so.

SCANDAL OF THE YEAR

That’s the last photo of Rihanna and Chris Brown together. It was made on February 8, 2009 shortly before Chris battered Ri in his car leaving her with horrible bruises on the face and months of public speculations and excessive media attention.

Rihanna came back triumphantly, while Chris’s attempts to revive his good guy reputation face bitter criticism.

Jonas Brothers will host 2009 Teen Choice Awards on August 10, 2009

As I’ve already said before, don’t plan anything special for August 10, 2009 if you like glamorous redcarpet events with a lot of your fave A-listers turn up to hot up the scene.

2009 Teen Choice Awards ceremony will surely be one of the kind. It’s gonna be really hot as it will be hosted by Jonas Brothers that will also perform at the ceremony.

Jonas Brothers secured a number of TCA nominees. They are nominated for Choice Male Hottie and Choice Male Red Carpet Icon. The singing trio will compete with Zac Efron, Chace Crawford, Taylor Kitsch and some other hot teen idols.

You still can make your choice as the voting is being on since June 15 [make sure you meet the age requirements, though]

My favorite financial magazine Forbes has made another celebrity report. And this time it is on celebrity kids under 5 years of age.

It is clear, that publishing celebrity kids’ pictures helps magazines and websites to ride out the credit crunch. Suri, the 2-year-old daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise is on the top of the Hollywood’s 10 Hottest Tots of 2008.

Two-year-old Suri won out because she was referenced in more than 1300 news stories over the course of the past year.

Little cutie Suri beat out Angelina Jolie’s and Brad Pitt’s blue eyed Shiloh Pitt for the top honors. Pollster also put Suri top after establishing she’s attracted the most column inches over 3-year-old Cruz Beckham, 2-year-old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and Madonna’s adopted son David Banda, 3.

Justin is itching to play golf

Justin, the love of my life and of Jessica Biel’s, and Britney Spears, and Madonna’s.

He’s so multitalented and it’s not only music and movies he’s good at. Justin Timberlake adores golf and is promoting it on Golf Channel as part of his latest projects.

In his ad JT demonstrates passion for golf and promotes the PGA Tour event bearing his name and airing on the cable network next month.

Justin Timberlake will front the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas next month on the 8th and golf’s big names are bringing their big drivers. ‘Sexyback’ superstar is thrilled with the line-up for his first tournament, which has been declared an official PGA event, and he’s itching to get out on the course with them.

Justin has been playing this sport for 6 years now, but says he feels like he was born to play golf.

He says:

For me, golf is one of those things where you go out and forget about everything else… I remember I hit one amazing shot off the tee, straight down the middle. I got to thinking, ‘Maybe I could play this game.’

I’m self-taught. I’d watch Tiger Woods and Ernie Els on TV and try to learn from what they did, but obviously I related music to it. The golf swing is very, very rhythmic. There’s a certain tempo to it, just in like in music.”

Yesterday hottie was spotted in Rome with his pretty Jessica Biel. The two went there for some romance. Romance in Rome – that’s so cheesy.

The couple looked like they enjoyed Coliseum no matter the fact that people were pointing at them. Biel and Timberlake arrived in the Italian capital, spending their time checking out boutiques and enjoying the streetside cafes.

When asked by Russia’s issue of Cosmopolitan magazine if he was to marry his longtime girlfriend Jessica Biel, Justin said ‘No, I’m not planning to marry anyone very soon.’

Human-Dolphin Phelps makes Olympics history

The most popular name on facebook.com nowadays is Michael Phelps, he is outrunning Miley Cirus and other hot celebrity names.

Eight gold medals in one Olympics this is beating records, as Wall Street Journal proclaims Phelps a new legend.

And of course, the most popular guy in sports is now ought to become rich with all the business proposals he gets after winning performance in LZR Lazer Speedo swimsuit.

“What is the value of eight golds in Beijing before a prime-time audience in the U.S?” WSJ asked Peter Carlisle, Phelps’ agent “I’d say $100 million over the course of his lifetime.”

Carlisle confessed that Phelps has been getting about 50 offers a day including bubblehead dolls, acrylic paintings, commemorative coins, car rims, tuxedos, and dog food ideas. The last one was pitched, given Mr. Phelps’s well-known love for his British bulldog, Herman.

Phelps was even offered things like all the pizza he could eat for a year, or free dental work. And certain female celebrities and athletes wanted an introduction from Mr. Carlisle. Perhaps, one of them was Paris Hilton? We all know her love of athletes. Remember the rumors how she was all over Cristiano Ronaldo in Villa LA hot spot?

Moreover, Phelps is sponsored by Hilton Hotels.

Now, the question is, will World record breaker make it as big as Tiger Woods? “They’re going to have to figure out a way pretty quickly to make him relevant on land,” says Mr. Swangard, the Oregon sports-marketing professor.

Michael Phelps won his record eighth gold medal Sunday at the Beijing Olympics as a member of the victorious U.S. 400-meter medley relay team, breaking a tie with Mark Spitz for most golds in single Olympics.

While fans wait until Monday night to watch all of the action at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, Hollywood’s hottest celebs were on-hand for the taping of the annual awards show at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles on Sunday night, August 3.

No one, but Hannah Montana starlet Miley Cyrus played host at the 10th annual running of the event, which showered celebrities with dozens of surfboard trophies in film, TV, music, sports and fashion categories. She, herself, won in all of the three categories.

Whereas other award shows dole out conventional trophies, the Teen Choice Awards hand out surfboards. The perennial Teen Choice champion Justin Timberlake – who has won 21 surfboards (more than anyone else) over the years – has managed to snag three more nods this year, didn’t show up.

But there were other celebrities who showed up even if there were no chances for them to win.

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian keeps it simply chic shining in a silver Bradley Bayou strapless dress with matching metallic peep-toes.

She was nominated for two surfboards this year: Choice TV: Celebrity Reality and Choice TV: Female Reality/Variety Star. In the category of reality star, she went up against Dancing with the Stars’s Kristi Yamaguchi, America’s Next Top Model’s Whitney Thompson and The Hills stars Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag.

Soccer stud David Beckham picked up the surfboard for Choice Male Athlete. He was accompanied by his wife Victoria to beat out golfer Tiger Woods, footballer Eli Manning and basketball star Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

Stop-Loss actor Channing Tatum picked up a surfboard for Choice Movie Actor in a Drama. The 28-year-old actor beat out Into The Wild’s Emile Hirsch, Rendition’s Jake Gyllenhaal, We Own The Night’s Mark Wahlberg and Stop-Loss’s Ryan Phillippe.

Infantile Mariah Carey performed at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards in a very “interesting” outfit. I think it fuckin sucks.
