VMA 2008

MTV Video Music Awards will rock LA this weekend. The show’s most intriguing moments have been kept in secret for so long causing a huge tide of all kinds of speculation to appear. There’ve been lots of rumors about the show and performers to hit it, but now we all can take a deep breath and relax. , host of the Sunday show, held a news conference on Thursday revealing some of the hottest VMA 2008 secrets.

Russel Brand VMA 2008

Now we know for sure that Britney Spears will open the show though it was just some time ago that all reports claimed she wouldn’t. It was just to create the buzz, definitely. It’s Britney’s chance to rehabilitate her image after her last year’s VMA disastrous performance.

Britney Spears

Hope she’ll do everything right this time. “MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs?” Britney said Thursday.

Kanye West VMA

We know who will open the show and we also know who will close it. It’s . And his performance is really something we could never expect to happen. The thing is that he was really upset at last year’s VMA for being shut out of all five categories, in which he was nominated, that he was quoted as saying he would “never return to MTV.” Never say never.

Christina aguilera VMA 2008

Moreover, this show will debut ’s new single ‘Keeps Getting Better,’ which is also the name of her best-of album, due this November.

“You’re going to get a first listen at my new sound. The last album, the style and sound was about vintage glam – this one is all about the future,” Aguilera told reporters.

T.I. will also debut a new song with .

The Jonas Brothers

are also to perform, according to Brand, who called them “God’s favorite virgins.” It’s probable that young country star will introduce the band. That’s “a decision made from below their [’] sexy little waists,” Brad noted.

And one more thing. ‘I kissed a girl’ singer will hit the show to perform… ‘Like a virgin’ for you guys. “There’s a lot of virginity and lesbianism going on at the show,” Russell joked during the press conference.

Katy Perry Hot

So it’s gonna be the 25th annual awards telecast, so make sure you don’t have any major plans for Sunday night. You just can’t miss it!

At the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas I picked my 5 best dressed celebrities. Here they are, like it or not, that’s my choice.

#5 in yellow Mischen frock and gold sandals. This season yellow is trendy but its getting on my nerves. Too much.

#4
The DWTS star punched up her all black mod ensemble from up and coming designer Katie Ermilio with a red clutch. Classy.

#3
The Top New Female Vocalist winner glittered in Marchesa’s delicately embroidered strapless chiffon gown. Stunning, but looks like she dressed up for her own wedding.

#2
Fred Leighton jewels, a flapper-esque Badgley Mischka platinum sheath and metallic Rickard Shah heels. Loved the dress.

#1
A mom to be is wearing Yves Saint Laurent’s empire waist frock. She is the glam.

Purple Hathaway

Just take a moment to think back to your own teen style. Well, as for me, I can’t look at some of my teenage pics. They’re awful! Especially the one featuring me in that purple dress I put on for my best friend’s birthday. Yuck! Anyway, most teens face similar clothing problems. Teenagehood is the time you start looking for your style, it’s the time you make fashion mistakes and learn the right things about your style preferences. It’s the time of stylish ups and downs.

When it concerns stars, and teen stars in particular, they are short of time for thinking: they need to rush to the red carpet! These teens can feel no shame looking back on their teen style. Let’s check out some under - aged celebrities who can be taken for style icons:

Let’s take Harry Potter cutie . She’s only 17 but it’s obvious she’s got an eye for couture that turned her into a real princess of style.

Emma

High School Musical star , 19, can’t do without super glam gowns.

Vanessa Hudgens

We must not forget 19-year old superstar . She’s young but promising. She’s got a musical ear (thank you for showing her to the world!) and a huge sense of style (I just wonder is it her stylist or her parents I should thank for it?)

Rihanna Turquize

Teen heartthrobs never miss. These siblings seem to be able to teach teens a thing or two about fashion. They should have used the chance to teach Mr. George W. Bush as well when visiting the White House.

JonasBrothers

Queen of the teen scene, , 15, loves to play dress-up on the red carpet and already favors some of the world’s top designers.

Miley Cyrus Red

, 18, likes to mix hip-hop street style and high fashion. Well, he has to be up to the level: has a great sense of style.

Chris Brown

Country princess can rock not only at concerts but on the red carpet as well. Her feminine frocks make all girls envy. She’s only 17 but she knows how not to spoil impression. Hope she won’t lose this talent when getting older.

Taylor Swift

, watch out! Here’s a new red carpet king in town! Zac Efron, 20, prefers to wear perfectly tailored suits and stylish ties when posing before cameras and millions of fans sitting and looking at him on the screen. He’s sexy! (Did I say it out loud?)

Zac Efron

, 17, has something to brag about. is her aunt, Eric Roberts is her dad! But there’s more, this teen actress has an ability to look grown up and elegant being so young. Must confess not many adult actresses have this ability, unfortunately. This makes her a real teen style icon.

Emma Roberts

Harry Potter star doesn’t need magic to look great. He’s not afraid to take risks. It might sound funny but he can still look hot wearing a strange leather vest he posed in for Details in June 2007.

Daniel Radcliffe

There’s another almost-under-aged so-called star I think of. . But on the other hand… don’t think some of her outfits have anything to do with style.

Miss Provocateur

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

  • Be what You want to Be

  • What do you call it when you feel something against your will? When the call of that something inside you starts ripping your self - esteem in pieces while your consciousness tells you to stop.

I never had it when I was a child.

I always felt what I wanted and I always wanted that what I felt.

Being used to getting what I want I am stuck. Stuck in the position like being lost in the desert. There’s nowhere to go. I can’t deny what I feel but I also can’t afford to feel it. It’s against my beliefs and values. Hum… fuck the beliefs. I don’t care.

No more. The human mind is such control-freak. It kills me. And if I continue it will sound like a confession to you and this is the least I want to do.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)

  • Barefoot

  • I remember one rainy morning when I was sitting on the backseat of my Mercedes. My driver picked me up earlier than the usual. I wasn’t mad at him, no. I thought it was great so I could get to the office earlier than the usual. But when I got into the car I asked him if we could drive around for a bit. I like rain. I wanted to go to the park and have a cup of espresso at the patio outside the café on the bridge.

I asked him to wait for me and he walked me carrying the umbrella. I hate it cause when he does it he always sings “Under my umbrella, ella-ella-ella…” Rihanna’s song, you know. It’s cute but he makes me smile and I don’t like that. He’s my driver. That’s it. He’s supposed to take me where I want, not make me smile.

  • Which one are you?

  • Preface: My last article made few men, whom I asked to read it, say it was bitchy to compare them with dogs, so this time I decided to distinguish women into a few different groups. I got the idea from a friend of mine who I think is more or less an expert in women. Sorry girls if you will find yourself offended when realizing this is who you can be sometimes.

Woman has always been a mystery to men. It is difficult to predict the way she will act in a certain situation. Whether she will through a scandal and tell all the girls, or will she keep it low. May be it will clear few things up and will surely make you smile.

  • The hunting season is open!

  • Men - hunting is a very special elite kind of sport among women. Even golf and horse riding lose their pathos and sophistication next to it. In this hunt there are three simple elements: “v” – victim, “w” – woman and the most important one – “d” – desire.

This kind of activity keeps you in a good shape and helps you stay in a positive frame of mind for many years. But being a real Venus and Artemis at the same time is hard work.

Factors, such as weak self - restrain and lack of knowledge of the way to handle the male kind may become more complex when completing the mission. But nevertheless, it is time to start the season.
