madonna-most-popular-celebrity-of-the-decade

Brits love Madge!

According to Telegraph.co.uk and TNS Media Intelligence, Madonna is the most talked about celebrity of the noughties in British print media. That means Material Girl has been mentioned most often in articles written over the last 10 years.

Marrying Guy Ritchie almost a decade her junior, adopting kids from Malawi, divorcing Guy Ritchie, dating a Brazilian model almost three decades her junior and constantly making crazy attention grabbing videos definitely deserves the first place in the study commissioned by online UK TV channel Liv.

According to Liv’s commissioning executive Alex Ayling, Madge reigns the top 10 most popular celebrities of the decade with impressive 45,633 mentions.

For the record, #2 has gained 17,000 mentions less than Madonna ending up with 27,976 articles over the last ten years.

This is a fascinating insight into which celebrities have real showbiz staying power with the UK print press and have proved their popularity over the last decade. Madonna’s ability to be able to re-invent herself and her image has meant she has stayed at the top of her game throughout the noughties and we salute the queen of pop,” Ayling said.

Kelly Osbourne is a Dancing With The Stars contestant

Hope you missed Dancing With The Stars. In this case you must be super excited about the new celebrity contestants to show off their dancing skills during the new season of the popular show that kicks off on September 21, 2009.

The list of 16 contestants has just arrived and some of the names do sound promising.

Fist of all, Kelly Osbourne will be there dancing for you!

Kelly is 24 but she’s already tried herself in singing, acting, musicals, hosting radio and TV shows and Djing.

According to the reality TV star, she’s terribly bad in dancing, so she’s simply terrified of the upcoming experience:

I am so excited, but I cannot tell you how terrified I am,” Kelly said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show. “Dancing is something that I’ve always really wanted to be able to do, but never had the confidence and the technique, if you know what I mean. I’m not very graceful, so it’s just something that absolutely terrifies me, and it’s the main reason that I kind of wanted to do it. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to do something that scared me, and I don’t think anything could scare me more.

One of the reasons Osbourne joined the project is that dancing can get her body “sick but toned.”

At DWTS Kelly will have to compete with:

Joanna Krupa, Polish-born actress, supermodel and covergirl

Amy Winehouse is a vuictim of globval financial crisis

They earn much, they lose much…

Hope none of you has been hit by global financial crisis.

While some people managed to stay financially intact, some have lost a pretty penny. Some celebs have lost up to a quarter of their fortunes (!) last year because of the recession.

According to The Sunday Times, Amy Winehouse has lost some $7 million in 2008. Wonder if she’s aware of it enjoying herself in St. Lucia.

Sugababes Heidi and Amelle on a car ride

Men are objects.

And Sugababes know it as they dominate, literally, men in their new music video No Can Do.

The girls are surrounded by scantily-clad male models acting as motorbikes, cars and pieces of furniture in the video to their new single.

The idea came from Allen Jones who in 1960s used female mannequins and fashioned them into pieces of furniture.

Music director Marco Puig has previously created videos for Robbie Williams and , no wonder the video turned out the way it is.

Ok, let’s admit it! It’s not enough to be just an actor, or just a singer, or just a fashion designer nowadays. You gotta be multi-talented to dwell in Hollywood. That’s why most of celebs launch their own fashion lines, try their hand in, writing, painting, etc. Some of them prefer singing to all other kinds of part-time celeb activity. For some of them being in front of the camera and being in the recording studio isn’t equally successful. Anyway, this is my selected list of top 10 actors-turned-singers.

10 Scarlett Johansson

The Hollywood star, 23, released her debut album Anywhere I Lay My Head in May, 2008 and didn’t receive positive reviews from critics. Seems like Scarlett is better in acting…

9 Gwyneth Paltrow

How this mother of two manages to combine two careers is still a mystery to me. Paltrow’s song collection comes mostly form her film Duets (2000). Her voice is described as “pretty good,” well tastes differ.

8 Keanu Reeves

I don’t know if many people know that besides being a good actor and a pretty handsome man, Keanu is also a bass guitarist and once even had his band Dogstar. The last Dogstar performance was in October 2002 , and they have since folded. Reeves later performed in band Becky but left due to his working schedule, but he reportedly still plays with the band sometimes.

7 Mini Driver

Mommy-to-be, 40, had her debut album Everything I’ve Got In My Pocket in 2004. Though receiving more negative than positive reviews for her musical career Ms. Driver decided to please her few fans with the second album Seastories that was released in May this year. Though not really ardent about this kind of music I did like her song ‘Beloved’. Does it make me her fan?

6 Bruce Willis

I love this guy! He’s so cute and he manages to safe his charm through years. Bet, most women came to his concerts not as much because of his music, but because of his personality. Anyways, Bruce started his musical career back in the ’80s and managed to go all the way up till now, though these days he focuses more on politics than music.

5 Russell Crowe

In the ‘80s he recorded a track called ‘I Want To Be Like Marlon Brando’ under the name Rus LeRoq. In the ‘90s he fronted the Australian band 30 Odd Foot of Grunts, the only thing I know for sure about the band is that the name sucks. In 2006 he formed a new band called The Ordinary Fear Of God. Like his music?

4 Lindsay Lohan

Oh, Lindsay… no day without Lindsay news. She recorded her debut album Speak in 2004. It went platinum. She released her second album, A Little More Personal, the following year but it wasn’t as successful due to Lohan’s inability to promote it properly because of acting commitments. Lindsay’s next album is scheduled for release this year. Wonder what songs will be about? Samantha Ronson will co-write, I suppose…

And this is the song I liked. Watch ‘Rumors’ from Lindsay’s debut album Speak.

3 Nicole Kidman

As for this Hollywood mommy, she must be good in everything she does. Remember her singing in Moulin Rouge? I must confess I was impressed, really. Though she’s too busy for singing nowadays her prior experience is worth praising. Check her song ‘Something Stupid’ featuring Robbie Williams

2 Evan McGregor

And once again about Moulin Rouge… Nicole Kidman had a wonderful partner, Ewan McGregor who turned out to have a good musical ear and a pretty good voice. He’s great, don’t you think?

1 Kylie Minogue

And here’s No. 1 actor-turned-singer. Australian born pop princess Kylie started her career in showbiz as a child actor, alongside her sister Dannii. She starred as Charlene on Neighbours in 1986. She recorded her first single ‘I Should Be So Lucky’ in 1987. The song was so catchy and sweet that it went to No 1 in the UK. Since then Ms. Minogue is more into singing than acting, actually. But anyway, Kylie’s by far the hottest actor-turned-singer of the decade.

Here’s one of her latest videos ‘In my arms’

But actually, the best actor-turned-singer (even if only for a while) is Cameron Diaz with her “dazzling vocal styling” in My Best Friend’s Wedding episode. She kicks everyone’s ass here.

I’m just kidding.

Celebrities never fail to look their best in the photographs. However, there is only one who almost never fails to put the right foot forward, and that is no one else but Australian pop queen . In a survey conducted by Samsung, world’s leading camera maker, Kylie was titled the Most Photogenic Celebrity.

Heartbreaker George Clooney is lounging at the 2nd place, reports Daily Express.

The #3 is the hottest celebrity-dad, who has two twins coming on the way. It is Brad Pitt!

Somehow, my fav Kate Moss is only #6

So, the official Top 10 Most Photogenic Celebrities are:

1
2 George Clooney
3 Brad Pitt
4 Victoria Beckham
5 Elizabeth Hurley
6 Kate Moss
7 Madonna

8 Cheryl Cole
9 Robbie Williams

10 Paris Hilton

Robbie Williams, in my opinion, deserves to take the #2 place instead of Clooney. Robbie is so photogenic and could probably make an excellent acting career if he tried.

Here is sexy video to his song ‘Feel’. It is in my favorite playlist and it will never be removed from there.

  • The truth is still out there?

  • Wings cut short, or sort of bdsm pleasure

  • You know I was just thinking about the things that make me vulnerable. Cause I personally hate this feeling, like being hanged in the air like being controlled from outside and unable to do my thing. Generally, who the hell was the first to come up with the idea of control? And the more important question, why do we need it? If I wanna do something I'll do it anyway and either way, and if I do it breaking some rules, escaping the CONTROL, then the feeling would just get better and the victory would just feel sweeter. So why do we need control and sort of submission it takes a long. What sort of bdsm pleasure is that supposed to give?

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • A Good bye to Ruslana

  • Prologue

Once upon a time there was a little girl who was just like a real princess, but no one knew that she was a princess. She grew up and became a very successful model. She lived up on the Manhattan tower and had almost a prince like boyfriend. One day she got tired of others not seeing that princess inside her. Ruslana Korshunova killed herself. She jumped off that high evil tower.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

  • Be what You want to Be

  • What do you call it when you feel something against your will? When the call of that something inside you starts ripping your self - esteem in pieces while your consciousness tells you to stop.

I never had it when I was a child.

I always felt what I wanted and I always wanted that what I felt.

Being used to getting what I want I am stuck. Stuck in the position like being lost in the desert. There’s nowhere to go. I can’t deny what I feel but I also can’t afford to feel it. It’s against my beliefs and values. Hum… fuck the beliefs. I don’t care.

No more. The human mind is such control-freak. It kills me. And if I continue it will sound like a confession to you and this is the least I want to do.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)
