Pamela Anderson's PETA ad is branded as sexist, banned in Montreal

All animals have the same parts says the new PETA ad campaign starring the oranization’s activist and long time celebrity supporter Pamela Anderson. The new ad that was unveiled yesterday is branded as “sexist” and banned from display outside of Montreal’s Place Jaques-Cartier when it was originally set to be presented.

City officials referred to the ad as “sexist” and going against all principals of gender equality between men and women.

I have to inform you that we, as public officials representing a municipal government can not endorse this image of Ms. Anderson,” was noted in the statement. “It is not so much controversial as it goes against all principles public organizations are fighting for in the everlasting battle of equality between men and women.”

Olivia Wilde is PETA's sexiest vegeterian of 2010

PETA has named actress the Sexiest Vegetarian of 2010 in their annual celebrity list.

Olivia has scored more votes in the poll than Alicia Silverstone, Ellen DeGenerez and others.

“Animal lover and activist proves that being vegan helps one shine from the inside out. She has saved lives on Fox’s hit show House and has saved the lives of animals off-screen by choosing a vegan diet,” PETA wrote in the statement.

turned to her website to thank her fans and PETA for the honor:

The kind folks at PETA recently asked their supporters to vote for their sexiest Vegetarian celebrity and today I learned I won that title, along with a dude who disproves the silly lie that Vegans cant be strong: Biggest Loser trainer, Bob Harper. I am really honored, and very inspired to continue living the vegan lifestyle that has been so good to my body, my animal friends, and the world we live in. So thank you, PETA, and thanks to all who voted for me!”

Octomom Nadya Suleman teams with PETA

Poor Nadya Suleman. Really, I mean it.

Unemployed mother of fourteen famously nicknamed “octomom” is so desperate to keep her house in La Habra that she’s ready for any kind of public humiliation and mocking to get some cash for herself, her kids and her home.

Though rejecting the offer to star in a porn movie, Ms. Suleman has agreed to place the PETA ad in her front yard promoting spraying and neutering pets to decrease the number of homeless animals and, thus, save lives.

No porn. Just Peta. Nadya prefers animals over men,” her lawyer Jeff Czech told the Associated Press.

The billboard was erected Wednesday. It reads: “Don’t let your dog or cat become an ‘octomom.’ Always spay or neuter. PETA.” Allegory, you say?

Octomom and PETA

Nadya has agreed to place the PETA ad in exchange for $5,000 payment and a month’s supply of vegan hot dogs and Boca burgers. Suleman has said that she typically spends $1,000 each month on groceries.

I love animals and I do believe they should be spayed or neutered,” Suleman said at the unveiling ceremony Wednesday. “Humans of course are much different.”

Oh, sure we are!

PETA slams Kim Kardashian's kitty photo

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals () has attacked socialite for posting a photo on her Twitter. The pic taken in Australia shows Kim picking up a black kitten by the scruff of the neck.

The TwitPic goes with the words: “Pic from my shoot yesterday…good kitty cat!”

immediately reacted to the photo saying Kim gave a wrong example of how to hold a cat a mother-cat style.

isn’t the only person who mistakenly thinks that because a mother cat picks up her kittens by the scruff of the neck that a supportive hand under the rump isn’t needed,” said in the statement.

According to AceShowbiz.com, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals echoes ’s anger saying that “the manner in which Ms. Kardashain is holding the kitten could lead others to mishandle animals.”

Defending the pic, Kim posted the following on her blog:

Rest assured, the owner and vet were on set and showed me how to pick him up. The cat was not harmed in any way and is perfectly fine! I love animals and would never do anything to harm animals.”

Don’t touch animals, Kim. ’s watching you!

PETA uses Tiger Wood's image for their 'Too Much Sex Can Be A Bad Thing' campaign

LOL. I never knew guys at had such a wicked sense of humor.

The latest ‘Too Much Sex’ ad from the animal-friendly organization features golf star Tiger Woods (who admitted his multiple love affairs while married to his wife just last Friday) and the slogan: Too Much Sex Can Be a Bad Thing … for little tigers too. Help keep your cats (and dogs) out of trouble: Always spay or neuter!”

who created the billboard without Wood’s permission, refers to it as “a fun, tongue-in-cheek approach” hoping Tiger will understand the pun.

We hope these billboard companies will understand,” Virginia Fort from , said. “The world has been transfixed on Tiger’s life after Thanksgiving. We’re putting the focus where it needs to be. We’re sure Tiger will appreciate our attempt – from a story that’s distracted the world and followed Tiger – to turn it into something positive for little tigers.”

The first billboard is set to be revealed in two weeks, if Wood’s people don’t sue the organization before that time.

ellen-degeneres-petas-woman-of-the-year

People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have awarded TV host Ellen DeGeneres and Project Runway’s Tim Gunn Woman and Man of the Year for their support and work in raising awareness for PETA campaigns and promoting nature-friendly lifestyle.

Ellen has been given Woman of The Year title for being a vegan and promoting the meat and dairy-free lifestyle by inviting experts to talk about the matter on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

I’m honored PETA named me ‘Person of The Year’. I thank them for protecting animals every single day. Amazing,” Ellen tweeted.

Tim Gunn has received the Man of The Year title for his fur-free fashion chain Liz Claiborne as well as participation in PETA’s ‘Fashion Victims’ video that tells about extreme practices in the fur and reptile skin trade, ICYDK.com reported.

PETA said:

Tim Gunn and Ellen DeGeneres show us that one person really can make a difference in the world by rejecting cruel deeds in favor of compassionate acts. Their message that animals must be treated kindly and respectfully has reached scores of people, and many of them have changed their buying habits, all because Gunn and DeGeneres spoke up for the voiceless.”

Hey, what about Pam Anderson?

mariah-carey-new-puppy

While the number of celebrity supporters keeps on growing (Joanna Krupa and are among the latest to join), some remain deaf to the organization’s plea to stop buying pets from pet stores and breeders and go adopt from shelters.

Mariah Carey doesn’t give a damn about shelters. She only gets her puppies from pet stores. Like this cute Jack Russell one she bought in Aspen the other day. The doggy is adorable but it doesn’t make Mariah’s crime against pets any less serious.

Still, the puppy (a Christmas present from hubby , I suppose) is a cutie.

Merry Christmas, Mariah!
Truly yours, shelter pets.

joanna-krupa-peta-ad

DWTS contestant and model is your new PETA angel. Actually, it’s Krupa’s second ad for the organization but it’s the first featuring her and her dog Rugby.

Sporting nothing but angelic wings, Krupa looks really sexy in the ad photo, which PETA claims to be just a sneak peak of the “racier version” that will be released after Thanksgiving Day.

In her ad Joanna calls you to adopt animals from shelters rather than get them from pet stores and breeders.
“Save a life by adopting from an animal shelter, and always give your animal companions the love and care than they deserve,” reads the “Be an Angel for Animals: Always Adopt. Never Buy” ad.

A devoted animal lover, is set to lead the protest outside a pet store that sells dogs and puppies from breeders on Dec. 1st in LA.

We’re trying to spread the word that breeding isn’t the way to go,” the model said. “Somebody needs to put their foot down and stop this breeding and these puppy mills. …they’re in these little tiny cages, and all they’re doing is breeding their whole life. It makes me so angry that our government doesn’t do anything about it. So I am!”

UPDATE: The “racier photo” was revealed on December 1, 2009 causing a wave of protest from The Catholic League.

It’s understandable that the Catholic League is wary of another sex scandal, but the sex we’re talking about pertains to dogs and cats. As a practicing Catholic, I am shocked that the Catholic League is speaking out against my PETA ads, which I am very proud of,” Joanna addressed the photo controversy during the ad launch. “I’m doing what the Catholic Church should be doing, working to stop senseless suffering of animals, the most defenseless of God’s creation. I am a voice for innocent animals who are being neglected and dumped by the millions at shelters. In my heart I know that Jesus would never condone the suffering that results when dogs and cats are allowed to breed.”

peta-thanksgiving-day-ad

PETA activists must hate Thanksgiving Day with its turnkey thing.

To somewhat balance the impact, PETA has released a new ad with a deadly serious connotation. Though it’s too explicit to misinterpret the meaning.

In this new ad we see a happy family gathered for the Thanksgiving dinner with a little girl saying a prayer that among other things includes the following:

“Dear God. Thank you for the turkey we are about to eat, and for the turkey farms, where they pack them into dark tiny little sheds for their whole lives. Thank you for when they burn their feathers off while they’re still alive, and for when the turkey gets killed by people who think it’s fun to stomp on their little turkey heads.”

Has PETA made you think about skipping the turkey this year?

Check out the ad below.

And still, with turkey or without it, HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY to all of you, my glamorous friends!

  • Wings cut short, or sort of bdsm pleasure

  • You know I was just thinking about the things that make me vulnerable. Cause I personally hate this feeling, like being hanged in the air like being controlled from outside and unable to do my thing. Generally, who the hell was the first to come up with the idea of control? And the more important question, why do we need it? If I wanna do something I'll do it anyway and either way, and if I do it breaking some rules, escaping the CONTROL, then the feeling would just get better and the victory would just feel sweeter. So why do we need control and sort of submission it takes a long. What sort of bdsm pleasure is that supposed to give?

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

Being used to getting what I want I am stuck. Stuck in the position like being lost in the desert. There’s nowhere to go. I can’t deny what I feel but I also can’t afford to feel it. It’s against my beliefs and values. Hum… fuck the beliefs. I don’t care.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)
