Hot: Marc Jacobs celebrates Nars 15th anniversary

Beauty company Nars is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and so the creative director and founder of the brand, Francois Nars, combined his two passions – beauty products and photography – for a special charity project 15×15, a book with fifteen Nars friends and their brand new looks created with the help of Nars products.

All the photographs as well as make up were made by Francois Nars himself.

When you do something for 15 years, you want to do something fun but [that is] still a nice piece of work. Plus, the Nars brand people wanted me to do something to remind people I’m still here,” Nars said, according to WWD.com.

The book contains images of fifteen people and fifteen Nars products that served as inspiration. Marc Jacobs, Isabella Rossellini, Amber Valletta, Dayle Haddon, Naomi Campbell, Amanda Lepore, Daphne Guinness, Francois Vincentelli, Natasha Poly, Lisa Marie Smith, Olivier Theyskens, Carla Gugino, Shalom Harlow, Tyson Ballou and Jennifer Jason Leigh all posed for the photographer.

Naomi Campbell attacks paparazzi in Italy

Naomi Campbell has allegedly attacked a photographer while on vacation in Italy.

Although nobody had ever filed a complain to police, photographer Gaetano Di Giovanni accuses the supermodel, 38, of attacking him and scratching his face with her nails so he had to go to hospital to see if his left eye was ok.

Does he sound sincere to you?

First she hit with her bag, screaming at me and then she tried to slap me,” he told an Italian newspaper. “I managed to avoid her – but her nails still got my eye. For a few seconds I could not see a thing. I could hear that her bodyguards and her boyfriend were trying to drag her away.”

According to the paparazzi, Naomi attacked him when she was going to her Russian billionaire’s yacht in the island of Lipari, that’s off the coast of Sicily.

Knowing Campbell’s infamous wild temper, the story seems more than just plausible to happen, but on the other hand, this guy looks so desperate for $$$.

Fabulous and always flawless Kate Moss has shocked us recently.

She is actually getting old. The 34 year old model is a wild party animal who has shown the inevitable signs of aging.

I am sincerely sad as I have recently talked about Kate being timeless. But she looks so on the cover of Vogue’s December issue. And yeah, who cares she was right there just three months ago.

British supermodel will play a starring role at the head of an unprecedented cast of a century of models at the next Costume Institute Gala Benefit. This will be as if a final good buy to youth look. No matter how sad this is – models age.

The event is regarded as the party of the year. It rivals even Hollywood’s Oscars night for style and glam.

Just think about it! Marc Jacobs is the honorary chair, Justin Timberlake joins Kate Moss to be her co-chair, as well as the editor-in-chief of American Vogue, Anna Wintour.

She surely was the best moment at the Africa Rising Festival which took its place at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The Festival is the finale of the African charity’s worldwide series of fashion & music events and is intended to raise awareness of African issues by finding “sustainable solutions” rather than by simply identifying the “problems” facing the continent.

Christina Aguilera shared stage with the former US Secretary of State Colin Powell, who delivered the keynote speech.

The event was hosted by Trevor Nelson, and featured catwalk shows from international designers.

Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, Tyson Beckford were modeling at the event.

Seal’s music was the soundtrack to the event.

Naomi Campbell has slammed the current top models, saying that Gisele Bundchen was the last true supermodel.

Campbell feels the supermodel label nowadays is given too easily and that most who claim they are supermodels are not really so. She said:

Models need to earn their stripes – I just think the term is used a little too loosely. Kate Moss is obviously a supermodel but, after Gisele, I don’t think there’s been one.”

The First Lady of Scandal has also hit out at the kabbalah – controversial faith – and even compared it to Alcoholics Anonymous. Here’s another recent quote of hers:

Away from the northern winter blahs, Avril Lavigne was spotted taking a dip in the pool at her resort in Miami, Florida. The ‘Girlfriend’ singer was looking cute in a sky blue two-piece bathing suit, along with some rock star shades, as she sipped a drink.

Gisele Bundchen is not only a supermodel, she’s just a superwoman. She gets set to catch some waves in Costa Rica. Lucky quarterback Tom Brady, he is the one who’s dating highest paid model of 2008 by Forbes.

Vicky Beckham is such a star! She’s always so posh but even for her there is a place where she can kick it off in uncharacteristically casual style: jean shorts and flip-flops! Love it! I think Victoria Beckham should go casual more often… there is some special sexiness in celeb-casual style. This is the most casual I’ve ever seen her.

The Hills roomie Audrina Patridge looks quite sizzling in pink and black Birdie Jo bikini while relaxing at the DKNY Jeans Malibu beach house. Smile is a killer.

Cameron Diaz soaked up the Hawaiian sun in a skimpy red bikini back in February this year.

Kate Bosworth also went to Hawaii. I like her swimsuit the most – the detail on the bra in the middle repeats harmonically on the hips.

Another star-studded party was held by Sir Elton John yesterday in his Windsor home. Hardly had celebs said good bye to Nelson Mandela in Hyde Park as they were invited to Elton John’s 10-th Annual White Tie & Tiara Ball raising money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The Ball is an annual event hosted by Elton John and David Furnish and one of the premier fundraising events of the UK. This year the ball marks its 10th anniversary and the 15th anniversary of the Elton John AIDS Foundation in the United Kingdom. This year’s sponsors include Chopard and OK! Magazine. The Ball has already raised more than £26.9 million (over $53m) since the first event in 1998.

The event is famous for its wealth of A list celebrities attracted. This year’s list included former U.S. president Bill Clinton, Sir Michael Caine, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Elizabeth Hurley with husband Arun Nayar, The O.C. star Mischa Barton, Kelly Osbourne, Rob Steward with his family, model-of-the-moment Agyness Deyn, Chris Tucker, American Idol judge Simon Cowell, Natalie Imbruglia, and many others.

Generally, every year the party has a theme. “The theme this year is ‘beach party’,” says Elton’s longtime partner David Furnish. “So, we’ve got Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys playing. The aim every year is to get people to say it was the best one yet. It’s still a party in your home and Elton and I like to shake everybody’s hand personally. There is no us and them.”

Though it was a beach party, most celebs preferred more classical glam style. I personally liked Natalie Imbruglia’s black dress that stressed her slender body really well.

Nelson Mandela along with the world’s most loved celebs have broken silence on Mugabe’s regime at Mandela’s party.

The fundraising dinned welcomed his close friends: world famous socialites as well as human rights activists. Among the guests there were big names like Oprah Winfrey, Nicole Scherzinger, Uma Thurman and many others.

But on a short address, Zimbabwe merited only a brief mention in a list of the world’s ills.

For the speech Nelson Mandela said:

The world remains beset by so much human suffering, poverty and deprivation. It is in your hands to make our world a better one for all, especially the poor, vulnerable and marginalized.

We look back at much human progress, but we sadly note so much failing as well.

In our time we spoke out on the situation in Palestine and Israel, and that conflict continues unabated. We warned against the invasion of Iraq, and observe the terrible suffering in that country.

We watch with sadness the continuing tragedy in Darfur. Nearer to home we had seen the outbreak of violence against fellow Africans in our own country and the tragic failure of leadership in our neighboring Zimbabwe.

It is within this context that we should also see the plight of those affected by HIV and Aids. It is now in the hands of your generations to help rid the world of such suffering.”

Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith were just two boldfaced names to fete the prebirthday dinner party held in Hyde Park. Also on the list: Forest Whitaker, Kim Cattrall, Leona Lewis and Denzel Washington.

Amy Winehouse was supposed to attend as well; unfortunately she’s been hospitalized and is still advised to stay in bed. For the concert though, she will perform at her first post-hospitalized performance.

Another troubled girl Naomi Campbell attended the event. She looked oh-so-preety, and most important, she smiled.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America awards took its glam place in New York Public Library on Monday. It was plenty of stardom. Each designer had a celebrity next to him or her to make a statement of who represents their fashion vision.

Maggie Gyllenhaal wore a green see-through Proenza Schouler with patterns on top and let me tell you that looked awkward. She reminds me of the socks I got for Christmass when I was 7. Victoria Beckham put on a dress by Marc Jacobs but it didn’t help her, instead hundreds of cutout hearts made her look like Valentine’s party at the elementary school.

The only thing I liked in her outfit were those vampy black sandals with her black-and-white minidress. Posh has her own DVB clothing line and she admitted she’s not good enough for CFDA. She told People:

I’m a starter at this. I’ve got a long way to go [before I could win a CFDA award].”

And finally Eva Mendes! She wore a clean white column dress by Francisco Costa, the women’s designer at Calvin Klein. As soon as the envelope was opened Eva let out a loud yelp. Her designer won the precious award.

And surely there was Naomi Campbell and undeniably in Yves Saint Laurent black gown-like pants. She held back her tears during the somber speech by the head f organization Diane Von Furstenberg. Top designer told guests:

Tonight the world of fashion is mourning. Yves is an artist who always surprised us with his silhouette and color palettes. He was a magician who changed the way women dressed forever. Like so many great artists, his life and his work really do live on.”

Saint Laurent died from a brain tumor at the age of 71.

Diana Von Furstenberg had Eva Longoria dressed in her pink frock and gold stilettos to match the gold-beaded neckline of the hot-pink dress.

The last but not the least touch for Eva Longoria was her husband Tony Parker. Basketball player was dressed by Brooks Brothers.

The men’s designer of the year is no one else but fashion icon Tom Ford. In his advertisements naked women grab the crotches of clothed men.

The crystal company Swarovski presented award to younger designers for Emerging Talent like Tory Burch, the maker of flats with her logo on the toe. She was given the award for accessories.

While that Rodarte label by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy were granted for women’s wear.

Band of Outsiders represented by Scott Sternberg got the men’s wear award. Swarowsky didn’t forget to give an award to noted Philip Crangi for his accessories.

Special awards went to designers Carolina Herrera and Dries Van Noten, and surely to Candy Pratts Price, the executive fashion director of Style.com. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg was thanked and awarded for negotiating the show in Bryant Park through 2010.
