inglourious-basterds-leads-2010-critics-choice-awards-nominees

The list of nominees for the 15th annual Critics’ Choice Awards was revealed yesterday morning.

Unlike other awards ceremonies Critics’ Choice Awards welcome movies of all different genres, thus, featuring more films in the nom list than some others, like the Oscars, for instance.

This year is all about blood spilling justice and mind blowing life stories as Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Rob Marshall’s Nine lead the nominations list with 10 noms each. They’re followed by James Cameron’s Avatar (out this week) with 9 nods, The Hurt Locker and Up in the Air with five each.

The 2010 Critics’ Choice Awards will air live on January 15, 2010 at 9/8pm Central on VH1.

Critics’ Choice Awards are traditionally seen as Oscar rehearsals, so probably this is the list of possible Oscar nominees as well.

Hollywood is too big for us to love everyone there. So Parade Magazine teamed up with Entertainment Tonight to find out ten America’s most favorite stars. So here’s the list.

1. Will Smith

Will Smith tops America's Favorite Stars list

He’s a big movie star, he’s a good husband and a great farther, he’s a humanitarian and a hard working person. Will is a real role model and a great example that dreams do come true.

I believe that the guy who works the hardest generally wins. Nelson Mandela once told me that when he was in prison, he was able to watch one American film every six months. He said our films are about hope and what the world should be. He told me to keep doing exactly what I’m doing, because there’s a struggle somewhere that I’m helping. I got really inspired by that.”

I don’t think there’s anybody who doesn’t like Will Smith. I personally do.

But amidst the frenzy of the photo-op reunion, she realizes this child is not hers. Facing corrupt police and a skeptical public, she desperately hunts for answers, only to be confronted by a truth that will change her forever.”

Clint Eastwood, who directed Changeling compared Angelina to Meryl Streep:

Actors know, with me they aren’t going to be allowed to rehearse a scene for a couple of hours and then get away with doing 25 takes before we get it right. So they come with their full bag of tricks.

Angelina is a lot like Meryl Streep in that respect.”

Clint added that she “is an actress hampered by her gorgeous face, I think the most beautiful face on the planet.”

Megan Fox was a teenage lesbian! Who knew? FHM’s Sexiest Woman of 2008 Megan Fox is talking it all out in the October issue of GQ as she strikes a killer pose on the cover on men’s magazine.

In a barely-there bikini and a sexy little pose, Transformers star knows guys are mesmerized by any kind of tongue action. Sales of the mag will go up as will as the muscle in guys’ pants will. For the girls – at least an eyebrow up. Admit it – she’s hot!

In the issue she talks about being famous, gossip, sex, being a lesbian, and why she hates Disney.

Megan on being famous:

I’ve done one movie. And it’s not a movie I want to stand on as far as acting ability goes. I mean—I’m not going to win an anytime soon. I’m not Meryl Streep.

Megan on sex:

Sex is something that everyone does, so why can’t I talk about it?”

Megan on the possibility of being a lesbian:

I just think that all humans are born with the ability to be attracted to both sexes. I mean, I could see myself in a relationship with a girl—Olivia Wilde is so sexy she makes me want to strangle a mountain ox with my bare hands. She’s mesmerizing. And lately I’ve been obsessed with Jenna Jameson, but.… Oh boy.”

Megan on internet gossip:

The other day, I said I eat a lot of cake, and that was the top story on Yahoo!”

Megan on Miley Cyrus’ and Vanessa Hudgens’ photo scandals:

With any of the Miley Cyrus s**t, or that Vanessa Hudgens s**t – I would never issue an apology for my life and who I am. Someone betrayed Vanessa, but no one’s angry at that person. She had to apologize. I hate Disney for making her do that. F*** Disney

Besides the cover, sultry Fox is also photographed for some other alluring poses inside the magazine: white bikini, pink bikini with an ice cube and a cherry up in her mouth.

Shot by Terry Richardson she gets the hearts of men and women.

On being photographed groping boyfriend Brian Austin Green at a restaurant:

I don’t understand why they’re so scandalous. When they first came out, it was like, Megan Fox was giving Brian a blow job in pub—I mean, uh—a hand job in public. First: Who gives hand jobs? Who’s given a hand job since seventh grade? Not me. And who does it at a café on a public street? I touch him all the time. It’s just like, if you have a girlfriend, you grab her butt or whatever. That’s all it was, but it became a big deal. I don’t know why. For me, touching Brian’s dick for two seconds—that’s not part of our sex life. That’s me playing around; you know, you just cup it a little. For a few seconds.”

Since 1992, Vanity Fair magazine does Vanities section featuring a full-page portrait of a promising young star. Here are the latest women in film industry who have it all to make it to having their names on the Walk of Fame. Here is a fastidious pick of four girls out of Vanity Fair’s 24.

Kristen Stewart

Age: 17

Provenance: North Hollywood, California.

You first glimpsed her as … Jodie Foster’s doppelgänger daughter in Panic Room (2002). “[Director] David Fincher does a lot of takes,” Stewart says:

There was this one scene we must have done, like, 80 times. I didn’t know that it wasn’t the norm. Now I wouldn’t be as chill with it … “

Because now she’s a prolific industry veteran, with four films due out this year. Namely, In the Land of Women, The Messengers, The Cake Eaters (the directorial debut of Mary Stuart Masterson, with Stewart in the lead role), and Sean Penn’s Into the Wild, based on the Jon Krakauer book. But is this the life for her? Not necessarily:

I want to go to college for literature. I want to be a writer. I mean, I love what I do, but it’s not all I want to do—be a professional liar for the rest of my life.”

Still, Kristen’s no brooder: “I love big-band music, and I’m taking swing classes now. I can’t wait till I’m going to be able to be tossed up in the air.”

Emily Blunt

Age: 23

Provenance: London.

You know her as … the cold-eyed young Brit who stole The Devil Wears Prada, delivering the performance most comically evocative of what editorial assistants are really like at … oh, certain publishing companies we’ve heard of. “I kind of knew that girl—she’s a total impersonation of various people whom I would find personally excruciating,” says Blunt, who is also a 2007 Golden Globe winner for her performance in the BBC drama Gideon’s Daughter.

But what I liked about that character was that there was the opportunity to glimpse something beyond sarcasm. There’s a vulnerability that’s transparent to me, when someone defines herself just by having an association with someone else.”

And you’ll know her better still after you see her this year in … Wind Chill, a thriller produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh (”I literally went from wearing Manolos to huge snow boots covered in blood and mud”); The Great Buck Howard, with , Tom Hanks, and Colin Hanks; Dan in Real Life, in which she gets to “have a dance-off” with Steve Carell; and The Jane Austen Book Club, an ensemble piece in which Blunt plays “a total nerd—a different part for me, because I often play the fast-talking, manipulative sort of character.” Extraordinary, considering that …

I had a really bad stutter as a child. It never occurred to me that I would want to be on the stage, because I couldn’t even bloody talk. My parents tried everything: I had speech therapy, I had [recordings of] dolphins squeaking at me at night to try and relax me, cranial osteopathy, everything you could do. And then I had a rather wonderful teacher who encouraged me to do the class play when I was about 12. I think he had the faith in me that I’d rise to the occasion. Or maybe he just had the smarts to say, ‘Why don’t you be someone else?’”

And now she’s smooth-talked her way into a relationship with swingin’ singer Michael Bublé: “It’s wonderful. I love him. We met at some awards ceremony and I was a bit of a fan and I told him, and he liked compliments, obviously.”

Hayden Panettiere

Age: 17

Provenance: Rockland County, New York.

Currently serving humankind as … Claire, “the Cheerleader,” on NBC’s breakout hit Heroes. “[The show] just sort of plopped in my lap,” Panettiere says:

I was walking out of a general meeting with NBC, and they were like, ‘Oh, hey, by the way, read this’—this script with a cockroach running across the front of it. And I read it, and it was amazing.”

Look out, Mandy Moore: Panettiere’s debut album, for which she co-wrote most of the songs, comes out this spring.

My [day] job is to portray people who are not myself, and this is sort of getting to portray a little bit of me.” What happens to college plans when you have a hit series at 17? “I’ve got 15 alumni from Duke University in my family. I absolutely want to go to college, but I don’t know if it’s going to work out with this series. [To her mom, Lesley] How long are we on contract? [Mom says, "I think it's six years."] Oh my God, I’ll be 23!”

And finally the hottest pick. She is the one from Mamma Mia!

Amanda Seyfried

Age: 22

Provenance: Allentown, Pennsylvania.

You know her… as the coming-of-age teen in everyone’s favorite polygamy-motif’d TV show, Big Love. But you’ll see her next as Meryl Streep’s daughter in the screen adaptation of Mamma Mia! “She’s the coolest human being ever,” says Seyfried of her on-camera mom. She didn’t treat me like I was younger. She respected me. I couldn’t ask for anything better.” Diablo rising: Next up for Seyfried is Jennifer’s Body, the latest project from multi-tattooed Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody.

I play the nerdy best friend of Jennifer, who becomes a zombie. I’m like the heroine of the movie. I have to try to save the small town we live in.”

During my journey to Tibet I was lost. It was actually the reason why I went there. I was there to try to discover my soul. I will not get into details about my journey; there is only one meeting I have to tell you about.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

  • Be what You want to Be

  • What do you call it when you feel something against your will? When the call of that something inside you starts ripping your self - esteem in pieces while your consciousness tells you to stop.

I never had it when I was a child.

I always felt what I wanted and I always wanted that what I felt.

Being used to getting what I want I am stuck. Stuck in the position like being lost in the desert. There’s nowhere to go. I can’t deny what I feel but I also can’t afford to feel it. It’s against my beliefs and values. Hum… fuck the beliefs. I don’t care.

No more. The human mind is such control-freak. It kills me. And if I continue it will sound like a confession to you and this is the least I want to do.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)

I thought that was stupid but hilarious and sent it to another friend of mine. He didn’t reply and I totally forgot about it. Well, I had to call him up for some business this morning and as he answered the phone he told me he was robbed last night.
