Nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards were announced yesterday by Academy President Tom Sherak and actress Anne Hathaway. During the ceremony the duo announced all the contenders in 10 of the 24 categories.

According to the Academy, Avatar and The Hurt Locker get most of the nods scoring 9 nominations each, including the best picture, best director, best cinematography, best music, best sound mixing and editing, and best film editing.

Ironically enough, Avatar director James Cameron and The Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow are real life husband and wife.

inglourious-basterds-leads-2010-critics-choice-awards-nominees

The list of nominees for the 15th annual Critics’ Choice Awards was revealed yesterday morning.

Unlike other awards ceremonies Critics’ Choice Awards welcome movies of all different genres, thus, featuring more films in the nom list than some others, like the Oscars, for instance.

This year is all about blood spilling justice and mind blowing life stories as Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Rob Marshall’s Nine lead the nominations list with 10 noms each. They’re followed by James Cameron’s Avatar (out this week) with 9 nods, The Hurt Locker and Up in the Air with five each.

The 2010 Critics’ Choice Awards will air live on January 15, 2010 at 9/8pm Central on VH1.

Critics’ Choice Awards are traditionally seen as rehearsals, so probably this is the list of possible nominees as well.

demi-lovato-glasses

Looks like lenses go out of fashion. More and more A-listers prefer wearing eyeglasses to wearing lenses. It can be a new trend, or a new budge-conscious way to look glamorous and, well, different from you regular look.

kate-beckinsale-glasses

Eyeglasses add certain charm to you look, no doubt. Depending on the frame and design, they either make you look serious or flirty and innocently young.

Anyways, celebs looove eyeglasses!

alicia-keys-glasses

From Joe Jonas’s rumored girlfriend Demi Lovato to Mama Mia! star Meryl Streep, LA Candy author Lauren Conrad and Esquire’s sexiest woman alive Kate Beckinsale, female stars are definitely into the eyeglass trend.

Tom Hanks lost 30 pounds for Philadelphia in 1994

Yo-yo dieting is no good. Just want you to remember it before reading this blog entry.

Actors are ready for basically anything to make the film brilliant and one of the kind. They’re ready to get bold, get fit, get rail thin or pretty plump. Anything the role requires, anything that helps an actor feel the part better is done to make you like the film and come watch it in movies.

So I was just thinking about actors who went to the extreme to portray their characters the best way possible. And the later often includes gaining or losing weight. A lot of weight, actually.

So here are my top 5 actors getting into extreme weight experiments for movie roles:

Matt Damon's new initiative, Water.org, is set to bring safe water to the developing world

This is one of the reasons why I find Matt Damon so attractive. He’s a great man with a kind heart and strong commitments.

In case you didn’t know, Damon is a well-known safe water issues advocate.

His new initiative is a non-profit organization focused on bringing access to safe water and sanitation to the developing world.

Water.org co-founded by Damon and WaterPartners executive director and co-founder Gary White is aimed to help the nearly 890 million people without safe water and the more than 2.5 billion people without safe sanitation, the organization’s official website reads.

Every 15 seconds, a child in the developing world dies from water-related disease. After visiting project sites in Africa and Asia with Gary, I’ve seen the problem and the impact of safe water,” Damon said.

Bruce Willis is a hot badass guy

It’s an explosive mix – being badass and being sexy. Some male actors though portraying bad guys in movies make us fall in love with them, and partly, with their characters. Being badass and being hot, what a fantastic combination!

Watching the Public Enemies trailer made me think of the hottest badass movie heroes I’ve ever seen. So here are some of the favorite.

Nicholas Cage / John Travolta in Face/Off

Nicholas Cage a real badass in Face/Off

I can’t choose the one, they both were fantastic. Both Cage and Travolta played the same badass character Caster Troy, who was a psychotic terrorist with crazy fantasies and erratic behavior. But they both were fantastic and, well, hot.

Hollywood celebrities really made an impact on the presidential elections.

Take Paris Hilton who expects a thank you from Barack Obama for motivating the young voters – the registered number of which was the highest this election.

The youth of the United States that was blamed for apathy proved the opposite on Tuesday, November 4th. Obama won California’s 55 electoral votes, a big boost towards the 270 needed to win the presidency under the United States’ indirect system of electing a leader.

Here are some of the celebrities we caught voting! Adorable!

is not to be liked by Hollywood socialite. Pink, Pamela Anderson, P Diddy, Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson – all hate her. They have another big name on the Against Palin Camp, but this one is much more intelligent and has actually made a strong argument.

Watch Matt Damon speak on , the lady who thinks dinosaurs were inhabiting our planet 4,000 years ago.

P.S. The picture of above is a photoshop image that is now everywhere on the web. Even though, it is very much like her in terms of rifles, cheap beer and a patriotic bikini.

  • Wings cut short, or sort of bdsm pleasure

  • You know I was just thinking about the things that make me vulnerable. Cause I personally hate this feeling, like being hanged in the air like being controlled from outside and unable to do my thing. Generally, who the hell was the first to come up with the idea of control? And the more important question, why do we need it? If I wanna do something I'll do it anyway and either way, and if I do it breaking some rules, escaping the CONTROL, then the feeling would just get better and the victory would just feel sweeter. So why do we need control and sort of submission it takes a long. What sort of bdsm pleasure is that supposed to give?

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)
