whitney-houston-2009-ama-international-artist-award

Remember I told ya Whitney Houston is gloriously back?

As it’s just been revealed, Whitney will be honored with a very special International Artist Award at this year’s 37th Annual American Music Awards on November 22, 2009.

The exclusiveness of this kudo is that it’s only been presented seven times in the whole history of the ceremony. The previous recipients of the prize are such internationally acclaimed names as Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Led Zeppelin, Bee Gees, Aerosmith, Madonna and Beyoncé Knowles.

International Artist Award is given to those artists who have gone beyond the borders of their own country to be acknowledged for their superstar status around the globe, AceShowbiz.com reported.

We’re honored to have Whitney Houston back on the AMA stage after ten years,” AMAs producer Larry Klein said. “She has won the most AMAs of any female artist in history and is without a doubt an international superstar, so it’s only fitting we honor her with the International Artist Award this year at such an important time in her career.”

Congrats, congrats, congrats!!!

2009 American Music Awards will be held in LA’s Nokia Theatre on Nov. 22, 2009.

The announced performers include Rihanna, Green Day, Shakira, Mary J Blige, , Lady GaGa, Eminem, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, , , , Carrie Underwood, DAUGHTRY, Whitney Houston and Adam Lambert.

Jow Jonas is an American Idol judge for the show's Texas audition

Paula Abdul’s vacant seat is so tempting.

According to People, Joe Jonas from Jonas Brothers will co-judge on American Idol during the show’s Texas audition on August 24, 2009.

His rep confirmed to the publication that Joe will become the first announced male guest judge in the show’s ninth season.

Hope he won’t be very strict.

As it was earlier reported, Paula Abdul’s seat in the judging panel will be shared by a number of celebs for the next season of the show that’ll be broadcast in January 2010.

Victoria Beckham has already filmed her part last week, and such music divas as Mary J Blige, Shania Twain, Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry will join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi in the nearest future.

American Idol’s winner Kelly Clarkson is currently in negotiations to also guest judge.

At this stage it doesn’t look like Paula [Abdul] will be replaced by one person. The celebrity judges are working really well for now,” Pop Tarts quoted an insider as saying.

Your thoughts, will Joe make a good Idol judge?

Carrie Underwood is a 2009 Grammy Awards winner

It was definitely one of the most exciting shows of the year for me. Lots of celebs, lots of quality music, lots of bright performances, lots of expectations, and, as it always happens with awards shows, some bit of disappointment.

Anyways, I was happy for Duffy who got the Best Pop Vocal Album award and for , of course. I was glad for and John Mayer, and for other winners, though I really hoped would get an award too, but alas, maybe next year.

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama at Neighborhood Inauguration Ball on January 20, 2009

Hope you didn’t miss a moment of the Inauguration Day yesterday. It was fantastic, dramatic, and inspiring.

And a couple of worlds about Inauguration fashion and style.

Firstly, Mr. President and First Lady. Unlike our predictions, Barack Obama picked a custom tuxedo made by Chicago-based designer Hart Schaffner Marx. And as reports say, it was the first tuxedo he purchased in 15 years.

Hollywood celebrities really made an impact on the presidential elections.

Take Paris Hilton who expects a thank you from for motivating the young voters – the registered number of which was the highest this election.

The youth of the United States that was blamed for apathy proved the opposite on Tuesday, November 4th. Obama won California’s 55 electoral votes, a big boost towards the 270 needed to win the presidency under the United States’ indirect system of electing a leader.

Here are some of the celebrities we caught voting! Adorable!

‘American Boy’ is one of my this year’s favorites. The massively successful hit has brought Estelle’s album Shine for the Mercury Prize nomination. Unfortunately Londoner songstress lost to Elbow, and their The Seldom Seen Kid.

But Estelle won’t give up as she is set to get over her Mercury Prize disappointment with big wins at the Mobos after being nominated for five awards.

Estelle has more nominations than Leona Lewis, who recently became the first British woman to reach #1 in the US singles charts for more than 20 years.

Estelle’s Nominations include:

Best UK Female

Album

Song

R&B/Soul

Video

The ceremony will be in October hosted by former Spice Girl Mel B.

In the Best Female category, Estelle and Leona Lewis will be competing with Adele, Duffy, and .
International Mobo nominees include Kanye West, Mariah Carey, , , , Mary J Blige, Ne-Yo, Usher, Akon and .

The 13th annual Mobo Awards will take place at the Wembley Arena in London on October 15th, and winners are chosen by public votes.

Watch the ‘American Boy’ video Estelle featuring Kanye West and oh, other cute American boys!!! Love the boys.

As Adele and Duffy will both go head-to-head with Estelle for the best UK female award, they do remember the headlines she made on Duffy’s and Adele’s music. That was so damn bitchy! Here it is:

It’s hilarious. I’m not mad at ‘em – but I’m just wondering, how the hell is there not a single black person in the press singing soul? Adele ain’t soul. She sounds like she heard some Aretha records once and she’s got a deeper voice – that don’t mean she’s soul.

As a songwriter, I get what they do. As a black person, I’m like: you’re telling ME this is MY music? F*** that! They keep trying to tell me in the media what soul music is and I’m like, we KNOW what soul music is, stop f****** around with us! You’re taking the piss out of every black person in the country!”

I have to disagree… There are also black people singing white music and they get awards for that. Anyways, who fuckin’ cares if its black or white singer as long as it sounds fantastic like Duffy’ ‘Mercy’?

Music Of Black Origin Awards – at the root, it is strange to me. Why to divide music and call the awards ceremony that way, it could be called Soul Music Awards.

What do you think?

  • Wings cut short, or sort of bdsm pleasure

  • You know I was just thinking about the things that make me vulnerable. Cause I personally hate this feeling, like being hanged in the air like being controlled from outside and unable to do my thing. Generally, who the hell was the first to come up with the idea of control? And the more important question, why do we need it? If I wanna do something I'll do it anyway and either way, and if I do it breaking some rules, escaping the CONTROL, then the feeling would just get better and the victory would just feel sweeter. So why do we need control and sort of submission it takes a long. What sort of bdsm pleasure is that supposed to give?

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

  • What do you call it when you feel something against your will? When the call of that something inside you starts ripping your self - esteem in pieces while your consciousness tells you to stop.

I never had it when I was a child.

I always felt what I wanted and I always wanted that what I felt.

Being used to getting what I want I am stuck. Stuck in the position like being lost in the desert. There’s nowhere to go. I can’t deny what I feel but I also can’t afford to feel it. It’s against my beliefs and values. Hum… fuck the beliefs. I don’t care.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)
