Queen Madonna, the busy mom and alleged adulterer opens up to press while in the midst of a media firestorm. But the interview is about as safe as it gets. No scandalous details and provocative questions were asked about A-Rod. The magazine scored for having Madonna on the cover, but not for asking the right questions. I know who reads those magazines. Sorry, ladies, there are no pie recipe.

Here are some highlights about the three most important things in her life — her children, her charities and, of course, herself — in the September issue of Woman & Home.

Madonna on motherhood:

Having children has had an enormous effect on me as a person, and creatively. When you have children you look at life differently. You have a much fuller sense of appreciation and for the fragility of life, and how magical we all are as human beings.

Madonna on turning 50:

The number 50 is not a bad word! I feel fine and am not sensitive about anyone talking about it. I see it as another excuse to have a party. I’m enjoying life as much as ever, as well as all the different things I do – directing, making music, having a family.

Madonna on Malawi:

I think the criticism that celebrities face when they are tackling humanitarian issues is down to the cynicism of the public. People like to criticize. It’s human nature. They can’t imagine someone could be doing something for an altruistic reason, because they are feeling generous.

Tonight, the queen of pop is expected to introduce her documentary about Malawi orphans, I Am Because We Are, at the State Theatre in downtown Traverse City.

The annual film festival that’s in full swing this weekend at the Michigan cherry capital is a family-friendly event, even with this year’s much-anticipated visit by Madonna. The Cannes film festival has champagne and starlets. The Traverse City version has baby buggies and hot dogs. It is just sweet and fun to do it that way. Once in a while.

Naomi Campbell has slammed the current top models, saying that Gisele Bundchen was the last true supermodel.

Campbell feels the supermodel label nowadays is given too easily and that most who claim they are supermodels are not really so. She said:

Models need to earn their stripes - I just think the term is used a little too loosely. Kate Moss is obviously a supermodel but, after Gisele, I don’t think there’s been one.”

The First Lady of Scandal has also hit out at the kabbalah - controversial faith - and even compared it to Alcoholics Anonymous. Here’s another recent quote of hers:

I knew about Kabbalah before Madonna got involved. Kabbalah is not a religion, it’s a program. I don’t like to get hooked on things like that. It reminds me of AA but just with different words. They’ve got the same principles. We’re all looking for positivity in our lives and looking towards the light but I just believe in God. I am religious. I pray most days and do my thing… but each to their own.”

Well, Naomi, here’s definition of kabbalah for you - literally it means “receiving”. It is a discipline and school of thought discussing the mystical aspect of Judaism. It is a set of esoteric teachings meant to define the inner meaning of both the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) and traditional Rabbinic literature, as well as to explain the significance of Jewish religious observances.

A waxwork model of Amy Winehouse has been unveiled at London’s Madame Tussauds wax museum.

The waxwork has the ‘Rehab’ singer dressed in the same outfit that she wore to the Brit awards - a yellow mini-dress and black high-heels. Including her trademark beehive hair-do and tattoos.

The sculpture took four-and-a-half months to create - the likeness was formed from existing photographs, as Winehouse was unable to pose for the waxwork.

Madame Tussauds gave us a rare glimpse at what Amy Winehouse might look like if she were to stop using and abusing. Singer didn’t shop up for the event but her parents did. Her father Mitch said:

Yeah, it’s great. We just said we’re going to take this one home with us and send the real one back.”

Nice joke pops.

But Amy Winehouse sure is talking differently about her future lately. Not only did she say she wants to volunteer at rehab facilities, but now she says she wants twins! She says:

Blake and I can’t wait to have kids. I want at least five kids. I want twins. Blake is gonna be the most amazing dad.”

She does know she can’t drink or do drugs or smoke when pregnant, right?

The wax model, unveiled by the singer’s parents, joins other celebrity waxworks, including one of Madonna, at the tourist attraction.

Shakira has just become a LiveNation singer. Following steps of Maddona, U2 and Nickelback ‘My Hips Don’t Lie’ singer has signed a 10 year contract with LiveNation. The deal will encompass tours, recordings, sponsorship, and merchandise throughout the world. The whole package is worth between $70 million and $100 million.

Singer has flown to Paris, France to meet recently freed political prisoner Ingrid Betancourt.

Shakira was the first celebrity to note the rescue of 15 captives who were held by revolutionaries Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) in her native Colombia, releasing a statement on the day Betancourt was freed:

It’s a historic day for all of us, for this country that has suffered a lot. What a proud day to be Colombian!”

On Wednesday, July 16, Shakira met the former Colombian presidential candidate at the Hotel Meurice in Paris. The two went sightseeing accompanied by Ingrid’s son.

This week witnessed the coronation of a new #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart: a catchy song ‘I Kissed a Girl,’ sang by a 23-year-old brunette bombshell Katy Perry.

Here is the hottest remix to a sweet naughty song from singer’s album One of The Boys. The song is a smashing hit. M.C. by the name of KhaK Black really stepped up to the plate with his rap version and hit a home run.

For the remix the guy recorded new footage and interweaved into the original song video, and moreover, he actually got girls to do the making out! Unlike, surprisingly, the original version had no girl – to – girl action. Go ahead and check it out. I am more than sure it’ll become everyone’s’ favorite. It is already Madonna’s most favorite recent hit!

The song is bouncy, amusing, and even a little arousing. It is more obviously a tease: lyrics include “I kissed a girl, just to try it/ I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it.”

What’s funny is that Katy is the daughter of preacher with a musical history in Christian rock. She has admitted in several interviews that she has not, in fact, kissed a girl, although she said “if Scarlett Johansson wanted to kiss me, I’m not sure I would say no.”

And hopefully, this wasn’t her hubby’s last attempt to save the marriage. I don’t fully believe what they (celebrities) say, of course Madonna wouldn’t say anything if she was going to ditch one Guy for another Guy’s friend, so if she’s not keeping silent, that means it is more or less true. Rep goes on:

Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary. They have met. They know each other and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There’s really not anything to comment on beyond that.

According to the latest rumors, Madonna and Guy Ritchie are on the verge of divorce. It’s been reported recently that the couple’s marriage was fracturing, and now some sources report the stars have turned for help… to divorce lawyers.

The Times of London reports Madonna, 49, has enlisted the counsel of Fiona Shackleton, who represented Sir Paul McCartney in his high profile divorce from Heather Mills. Madonna’s rep is reticent to comment.

Meanwhile Ritchi, 39, is said to have sought matrimonial counsel from a lesser-known London legal firm, Forsters.

The couple started dating in 1999 after meeting each other at a dinner party hosted by mutual friends Sting and his wife Trudie Styler. They married in 2000 and are presently raising three children together, Madonna’s daughter from a previous relationship, Lourdes, 11, Rocco Ritchie, 7, and David Banda, 21 months, whom they adopted in Malawi in 2006.

It is believed that the couple did not have a prenup, according to The Times, while Madonna is worth an estimated $600 million. So if they really decide to divorce it’s gonna be something even more dramatic and high-profile than Macca’s divorce.

As for the reasons for divorce, the insiders say:

“Guy finds life as “Mr. Madonna” unbearable. He was embarrassed by Madonna’s flirtatious relationships with Stuart [dancer/producer Stuart Price] and Justin [Timberlake]. Now a new tour coming up, he knows Madonna is going to be surrounded by sycophants and hot young things who will only be too eager to stroke her fragile ego. He is not even objecting to Madonna’s plan to relocate from London to New York City, though he has no intention of following suit.”

Well, actually, it all looks pretty sad. The couple’s friends are reported to be really frustrated with the news. Nevertheless, in the May issue of U.K. Elle, Madonna denied martial strife.

Let’s hope divorce is just a rumor and nothing more. Let’s keep fingers crossed they’ll manage to settle the issue.
