Blake Lively goes from a New York fashionista to a more serious part in The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, a drama written and directed by Rebecca Miller and produced by Brad Pitt.
Blake shows her serious actress side depicting the young protagonist Pippa Lee going through wild experience before eventually settling down with a man 30 years her senior and living a picture-perfect cozy life that comes to an end as her hubby finds a lover younger her age and she meets a man who’s ready to accept her as she is.
Blake’s Pippa leaves home to live with her aunt who introduces her to drugs, lesbian bandage sex on camera and wild parties.
The role is very different from Blake’s Serena Van Der Woodsen in The Gossip Girl, and Lively looks wonderful in the movie starring alongside such Hollywood names as Julianne Moore (Pippa’s dominatrix friend Kit), Robin Wright Penn (Pippa Lee), Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Monica Bellucci, and Alan Arkin.
Keanu Reeves is eyeing another movie project (hope it’ll be better than his previous comeback effort).
Reeves is in talks with Universal to play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in the new take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Can you imagine Keanu playing somebody with split-personality? Sounds intriguing.
Little is actually known about the project. It will supposedly be titled Jekyll and will be more thrilling and horror-like than the previous attempts to bring the story to the screen.
The movie script is reportedly being penned by Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road), while Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) is probably the one to director the movie.
Though I don’t know what to expect from this new take, I just hope they won’t screw the story up.
My favorite Jekyll and Hyde movie is still 1996’s Mary Reilly with Julia Roberts and John Malkovich. Wonder if I change my mind after this new movie hits theaters.
