taylor-swift-grammy-performance-controversy

Nobody’s ever talking about Taylor breaking the award, everybody’s talking about her “bad performance”. What’s wrong with you guys?

Taylor Swift’s 2010 performance that’s being severely criticized by some media sources, is the center of a new scandal, this time between Taylor’s label bosses and , an American Idol alum.

Defending Swift, Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta told AP that Taylor’s performance was ok and if she couldn’t “sing the highest note” it didn’t mean she was bad. On the contrary, she was “voice of this generation” speaking “directly to (her fans), and they speak directly back to her.”

Borchetta finished his speech saying Grammys weren’t a competition.

This is not American Idol. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It’s not about that technically perfect performance,” he concluded.

Taking things very close to heart, responded to his words. That’s what she posted on her blog:

Wow…..Dear Scott Borchetta,

I understand defending your artist obviously because I have done the same in the past for artists I like, including Taylor, so you might see why its upsetting to read you attacking American Idol for producing simply vocalists that hit ‘the high notes’. Thank you for that ‘Captain Obvious’ sense of humor because you know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the ‘right’ notes as well. Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better. I have been criticized left and right for having shaky performances before (and they were shaky) and what my manager or label executives say to me and the public is “I’ll kick butt next time” or “every performance isn’t going to be perfect” ……I bring this up because you should take a lesson from these people and instead of lashing out at other artists (that in your ‘humble’ opinion lack true artistry), you should simply take a breath and realize that sometimes things won’t go according to plan or work out and that’s okay.

Sincerely,

One of those contestants from American Idol who only made it because of her high notes.

From elegant to wacky, from sparkling to classic black, these are the dresses that I will probably still remember when next year’s hit the redcarpet.

Give it up to fashion designers and their unquestionable sense of style and fashion forward ideas.

Let’s start with . But for her, the 52nd Awards ceremony would have been completely fashion-bored. Her surreal Prive lilac gown and bejeweled platform heels are so crazy! These boots are not made for walking but Lady managed to walk the redcarpet and keep her balance, just can’t imagine how hard it was for her.

Still her out-of-the-space dress and spiked star sculpture were really attention grabbing. Her bright make up and yellowish hair completed the style-forward look.

She’s my top pick today.

Brit arrived hand in hand with her manager boyfriend Jason Trawick looking all smiles and happy. Sporting darker hair and too much rouge, Britney opted for a black lace Dolce & Gabanna dress with black bodysuit pairing it with black fishnet tights and studded black heels.

What were you thinking Britney?

billboard-top-artists-2009-taylor-swift-kanye-west

It looks like a silly joke but it’s true – beats and Kanye is also involved. Looks familiar, doesn’t it?

Billboard has announced their annual list of Top Artists of The Year putting together data from album sales figures, Hot 100 and Billboard 200 song rankings from November 2008 through November 2009.

According to the publication, is the Top Female Artist of the Year, while Kanye West is the Top Male.

Just like I said, Taylor is followed by Beyonce in the Top 10 Female Artists list with , P!nk, Katy Perry and Britney Spears also making it to the list.

It’s being an unprecedentedly lucky year for Swift who’s won all possible awards including the most prestigious ones, like Artist Of The Year and Entertainer Of The Year. On top of all, she ends the year with 8 Grammy Awards nominations.

Unlike Taylor, it wasn’t the best year for Kanye who actually f***ed up at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards ceremony with consequent cancelation of the sold-out tour and global media making fun of him for weeks. Nevertheless, he’s the top male artist of the year! He can go and celebrate it in his tiny Kanye Kingdom of vanity.

miley-cyrus-off-2010-grammys-nominations-list

Sad news for Miley Cyrus camp. The 17 year old singer/actress and her song ‘The Climb’was “disqualified” and removed from the 2010 Grammy Awards nominations list.

According to the sources, the Hannah Montana soundtrack that had previously been listed in the Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media category was replaced by ‘All Is Love’ from the soundtrack for Where the Wild Things Are.

The movie’s director Spike Jonze explained the situation:

In an unexpected twist, one of the announced Grammy candidates for Best Song written for a Soundtrack has been disqualified after the fact (Miley Cyrus in fact). The nomination then goes to the song with the next-highest initial vote count, which is Karen O and the Kids’ ‘All is Love’.”

Another possible explanation for such disqualification is that ‘The Climb’ wasn’t specially written for the movie, the fact that makes the song ineligible for the award. On the other hand, Karen O from Yeah Yeah Yeahs penned the song specially for the movie in the Grammys race.

Sorry Miley!

beyonce-knowles-leads-2010-grammy-awards-nominations

This is one of the best years for both singers, Beyoncé Knowles and 19 year old Taylor Swift. The Grammy nominees were announced yesterday during The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! – Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night. Beyonce has scored 10 nominations while Taylor has ended up with eight including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

lady-gaga-grammys-2010

2010 nominees will be announced tonight and the world is already buzzing about Lady GaGa’s nomination controversy.

GaGa is predicted to get noms in such categories as best album and best song of the year but her inclusion into the best new artist category is quite controversial as she was already nominated for Grammy in the Best Dance Recording for ‘Just Dance’ last year making it obvious she’s not “new” in the business.

However, her album The Fame hit big in 2009 and made her the ultimate music sensation and major hit maker within months.

Recognizing the absurdity of the situation, Grammy bosses consider changing the rules for nominations.

This particular issue in the Best New Artist category is on our radar and I would expect changes to address it in next year’s voting,” Grammy president Neil Portnow told PEOPLE.

If change rules for GaGa why couldn’t they change them for Jennifer Hudson last year? Lady’s satiation looks similar to that of the young singer when Hudson was excluded from the Best New Artist category due to her 2007 nomination in the Outstanding Motion Picture Soundtrack Compilation category for Dreamgirls.

That’s not fair guys [though i do like Lady GaGa]

2010 will be held on January 31st at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

YOUR THOUGHTS, should the rules be changed for GaGa?

If I wanna do something I'll do it anyway and either way, and if I do it breaking some rules, escaping the CONTROL, then the feeling would just get better and the victory would just feel sweeter. So why do we need control and sort of submission it takes a long. What sort of bdsm pleasure is that supposed to give?

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)
