has remained a top-tier label through 40 years and is still a force. The company is so deserving they can throw a party during the ongoing New York Fashion Week, filling Manhattan’s new High Line park Sunday night with celebrities.

The new mom has the body to show off. Her post-baby shape was fitted in a body-hugging outfit.

The designer’s soiree is one of the most exclusive events at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, where designers are showcasing next spring’s fashions.

The event was held at the High Line, a former elevated rail line that’s been converted into a park on the city’s west side

Among other A-listeres there were , , , , , Kimora Lee Simons and , who became a household name back in the 80s with the iconic jeans ad campaign.

The then-teenage Brooke said:

Nothing comes between me and my Calvins.”

The signature looks come in all black, all white, architectural dresses and sculptured coats. They’re luxurious without being showy. On the occasions that garments are embellished, the addition is done for effect. Because it’s done so rarely, it works.

, today is owned by Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. with Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli as its creative forces, doesn’t look much like ’s — the one the Bronx native opened with childhood friend Barry Schwartz back 1968. Back then, the duo made coats.

The new designer Francisco Costa mixed supple, thin fabrics like washed silk, charmeuse, chiffon, gauzy mohair, and cashmere against bulkier wool felt, shearling, and ponyskin, in a typically limited color palette of black, ivory, cream, pinky-brown, steel blue, and peach.

He showed flowing silk dresses and mid-calf skirts, slit up the thigh or sliced into awkward flaps along the hem, and loose, hip-length self-belted jackets. There were dramatic black motorcycle-type jackets, cut oversize from ponyskin or felt and worn over fragile underpinnings. Mixed into the outfits were some promising pieces: a short black wool jacket, a black angora and chiffon tank top, a sheer white shirt, some lovely pintucked dresses. But overall, the collection lacked exactly the kind of clean, effortless, coolly pretty clothes that Klein taught the world to want.

Gisele Bundchen

No more sexy and hot for Armani, no more for , no more beauty and sex appeal in ads. At least in EU. At least that’s what EU’s women’s rights committee intends to do. According to DailyMail.co.uk, the new rules on sexism and inequality in advertising come in the committee’s report, which has already been adopted by the European Parliament.

Claudia Schiffer and Sylvester Stallone

In short, it means that all ads that might seem sexy and raunchy might get banned in Europe simply because they “promote women as sex objects or reinforce gender stereotypes.” So forget about underwear ads and say thank you very much to Swedish MEP Eva-Brit Svensson, who introduced the report to the European Parliament.

David Beckham - Armani

“Gender stereotyping in advertising straightjackets women, men, girls and boys by restricting individuals to predetermined and artificial roles that are often degrading, humiliating and dumbed down for both sexes,” the MEP said.

Eva Herzigova - WonderBra

The committee’s provision is not a law, but it anyway may be considered by individual European Parliaments when dealing with advert control and regulations. The provision has already been called “inflexible and impractical.”

Kate Moss - Calvin Klein

One may wonder why this provision was made at all, as Advertising Standards Authority said existing codes already barred ads from being “discriminatory or harmful when depicting men or women.”

Nike - sexy ad

If EU individual parliaments do like the idea of banning sexy ads, it might be that lots of models won’t be able to do their job as faces of underwear ad campaigns. The industry will financially degrade. What do you think about it?

The Council of Fashion Designers of America awards took its glam place in New York Public Library on Monday. It was plenty of stardom. Each designer had a celebrity next to him or her to make a statement of who represents their fashion vision.

wore a green see-through Proenza Schouler with patterns on top and let me tell you that looked awkward. She reminds me of the socks I got for Christmass when I was 7. put on a dress by Marc Jacobs but it didn’t help her, instead hundreds of cutout hearts made her look like Valentine’s party at the elementary school.

The only thing I liked in her outfit were those vampy black sandals with her black-and-white minidress. Posh has her own DVB clothing line and she admitted she’s not good enough for CFDA. She told People:

I’m a starter at this. I’ve got a long way to go [before I could win a CFDA award].”

And finally ! She wore a clean white column dress by Francisco Costa, the women’s designer at . As soon as the envelope was opened Eva let out a loud yelp. Her designer won the precious award.

And surely there was and undeniably in Yves Saint Laurent black gown-like pants. She held back her tears during the somber speech by the head f organization Diane Von Furstenberg. Top designer told guests:

Tonight the world of fashion is mourning. Yves is an artist who always surprised us with his silhouette and color palettes. He was a magician who changed the way women dressed forever. Like so many great artists, his life and his work really do live on.”

Saint Laurent died from a brain tumor at the age of 71.

Diana Von Furstenberg had dressed in her pink frock and gold stilettos to match the gold-beaded neckline of the hot-pink dress.

The last but not the least touch for was her husband . Basketball player was dressed by Brooks Brothers.

The men’s designer of the year is no one else but fashion icon . In his advertisements naked women grab the crotches of clothed men.

Sexy and bold is Tom’s signature!

The crystal company Swarovski presented award to younger designers for Emerging Talent like Tory Burch, the maker of flats with her logo on the toe. She was given the award for accessories.

While that Rodarte label by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy were granted for women’s wear.

Band of Outsiders represented by Scott Sternberg got the men’s wear award. Swarowsky didn’t forget to give an award to noted Philip Crangi for his accessories.

Special awards went to designers Carolina Herrera and Dries Van Noten, and surely to Candy Pratts Price, the executive fashion director of Style.com. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg was thanked and awarded for negotiating the show in Bryant Park through 2010.

Fran Lebowitz was the evening’s emcee.

Miss Provocateur

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

I never had it when I was a child.

I always felt what I wanted and I always wanted that what I felt.

Being used to getting what I want I am stuck. Stuck in the position like being lost in the desert. There’s nowhere to go. I can’t deny what I feel but I also can’t afford to feel it. It’s against my beliefs and values. Hum… fuck the beliefs. I don’t care.

No more. The human mind is such control-freak. It kills me. And if I continue it will sound like a confession to you and this is the least I want to do.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)

  • I remember one rainy morning when I was sitting on the backseat of my Mercedes. My driver picked me up earlier than the usual. I wasn’t mad at him, no. I thought it was great so I could get to the office earlier than the usual. But when I got into the car I asked him if we could drive around for a bit. I like rain. I wanted to go to the park and have a cup of espresso at the patio outside the café on the bridge.

I asked him to wait for me and he walked me carrying the umbrella. I hate it cause when he does it he always sings “Under my umbrella, ella-ella-ella…” Rihanna’s song, you know. It’s cute but he makes me smile and I don’t like that. He’s my driver. That’s it. He’s supposed to take me where I want, not make me smile.
