Pete Doherty is the most stylish man of teh past 50 years according to GQ magazine

GQ Magazine has made the 50 Most Stylish Men of the Past 50 Years list including a lot of big names of the past and present.

I agree with most of the names listed but I was amazed to find trouble head Pete Doherty among the most stylish.

According to the mag, “he’s always had a certain authenticity.” They proudly call him “let’s-dial-it-back-to-1972 rock star” saying he follows his 70s rock’n'roll style in everything, including addiction to drugs. Well, it’s something I wouldn’t consider worth being proud of.

On the other hand, his slim-cut suits, his signature hat and scarf do make him stylishly-outstanding in the crowd.

Check out who also made the list…

David Beckham is teh best style icon

The survey showed the British consider David Beckham to be their ultimate style icon of the last 80 years. The survey was held as a part of Brylcreem’s National Men’s Hair Week, which pitted a style icon from each decade for the last 80 years against each other, FemaleFirst reported today.

Beckham beat off such icons as 1960s Sean Connery, 1970s David Bowie, 1980s Freddie Mercury, and 2000s David Craig.

David Beckham is British style icon

According to the source, David has everything that marks a real British male style icon: he is fastidiously groomed, booted and suited but doesn’t look like he tries too hard. Beckham is the example of the New Man and that most ambiguous of contemporary style manifestations, the meterosexual, the source revealed.

Well, David got another glam title. No bitching, hope Victoria is not offended her hubby is even a more popular style icon than herself.

Boy Gorgeous sings ‘Yes We Can’ supporting Barack Obama. The song itself and the music have the positive sound and the power to touch. But the video is just too complicated EVEN to me.

Ok, I tried hard to see symbolism in the animated video featuring , John Waters-muse Divine, and Amy Winehouse.

represents change, perhaps? Well, David has changed his persona so many times. The clown represents McCain being a jerk –off (as the clown jerks on a broom handle). Then Amy goes alone the words “No one knows you like you know yourself. You’re in control right now, but you might go too far.”

I am not sure if that makes any sense.

If I were to be Barack Obama I would say “Thank you, but no, thank you.”

Anyway is on his South American part of the tour. Today in Santiago, Chile, tomorrow in Quito, Ecuador. Following the 16th in Caracas, Venezuela, and Lima, Peru. And the last date is the 20th in San Jose, Costa Rica before doing his gigs in UK.

Unfortunately, or fortunately is denied to enter the United States. Read HERE why.

Scarlet Johansson’s debut album is panned by critics. Anywhere I Lay My Head was released on May 20th and now most of musical critics think Johansson better focus on acting and forget about singing. Lost In Translation star recorded a collection of Tom Waits songs and has lately released her first single ‘Falling Down’, the video for which was directed by Oscar-nominated Capote filmmaker Bennett Miller.

Although some critics say the album wasn’t generally bad, numerous reviews of the album complained that Johansson’s vocals end up lost in the lush arrangements of producer David Andrew Sitek, the guitarist and keyboardist for the indie rock band TV On The Radio, Reuters reported yesterday.

According to Rolling Stone magazine:

Johansson’s voice is unremarkable and her pitch sometimes unsteady; she’s a faintly goth Marilyn Manson lost in a sonic fog.”

Britain’s Mojo magazine called the recordings “fussy and forgettable,” hissing off Johansson’s decision to begin the album with an instrumental as it was hardly a “vote of confidence in Johansson’s vocal abilities.”

Entertainment Weekly magazine called Scarlett’s voice “expressionless”, while the Washington Post said one could have “no earthly idea what she sounds like” after listening to all 40-something minutes of the album. “The album is ultimately too ethereal for its own good,” the issue added said. “Every song is like every other song, even the ones that sound different.”

The album consists of 11 tracks, all covers of Waits songs except for one original piece co-written by Johansson and Sitek. Two cuts feature on backing vocals.

Anywhere I Lay My Head is not Johansson’s very first musical effort. She performed the George Gershwin standard Summertime on a 2006 charity album, Unexpected Dreams: Songs from the Stars. She later sang live with the band Jesus and Mary Chain at the Coachella Music Festival in California.

Though Johansson might not be the best singer and music genius, she’s a good actress, she’s pretty young woman, and she’s engaged to . Isn’t that enough?

Scarlett Johansson Black

May, 20th is the date for Scarlett Johansson’s Tom Waits covers album release. It is titled Anywhere I Lay My Head. It sounds very promising unlike an average celebrity make over. Take this – its Waits’ ‘Falling Down’ — from 1988’s ‘Big Time’.

It was hard work for Scarlett, I imagine, considering how Tom Waits’ voice is very distinctive, as described by one critic as sounding “like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months and then taken outside and run over with a car

There will also be guest spots from David Bowie and David Sitek. Here’s what Scarlett has to say about her ‘Falling Down’:

When I had the idea to do an album of Tom Waits songs, before I had even met Dave [Sitek], someone suggested I sing ‘Falling Down’. But I decided it was too corny for me to do just because it has the lyric about ‘Scarlett and me.’ But Dave hadn’t even noticed it. When I mentioned it, he thought the synchronicity was crazy and I never even thought twice about it after that. I was like, ‘Yeah, let’s do it.’”

Some say she’s better in acting than singing, I totally agree.

  • Wings cut short, or sort of bdsm pleasure

  • You know I was just thinking about the things that make me vulnerable. Cause I personally hate this feeling, like being hanged in the air like being controlled from outside and unable to do my thing. Generally, who the hell was the first to come up with the idea of control? And the more important question, why do we need it? If I wanna do something I'll do it anyway and either way, and if I do it breaking some rules, escaping the CONTROL, then the feeling would just get better and the victory would just feel sweeter. So why do we need control and sort of submission it takes a long. What sort of bdsm pleasure is that supposed to give?

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)
