Glam New year 2009

Ok, 2008 is almost over so it’s time to sum up what we’ve seen, enjoyed, got crazy or furious at during the year. Think making another list of mine, the last one this year.

TEEN OF THE YEAR

Miley Cyrus is teen of the year

Let’s begin with teens. The Teen of the Year is definitely Miley Cyrus. She’s made a way from a Disney Channel star to one of the most influential women in entertainment. She’s been different, shocking and amusing. She made a stir with her Vanity Fair shoot and she’s celebrated her sweet 16 in Disney Land. She’s # 1 teen of 2008.

Although, I do belive we must praise the , Chris Brown, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato for the great work they’ve done. Though not on the top, they are surely among the best teens of the year!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt The Curious Case of Benjamin Button premiere in LA

and Cate Blanchet starring The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button premiered in Hollywood Monday night. The party was all A-list and glam. The leading stars glamed up the red carpet with other big names showing up to support them.

and Angelina Jolie were probably among the most photographed that night. They both looked blissfully happy and stunning. Angelina donned en elegant black dress, looking a bit boring against other female celebs to visit the premiere. I liked her vintage earrings and her light make up. Brad opted for a three-piece Tom Ford classic tuxedo. Brad’s parents were there to support their celebrity son.

Benjamin Button premiere. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a film shot and set in New Orleans, starring one of the city’s newest and most high-profile celebrity resident, Brad Pitt.

At the premiere of the expected blockbuster in Harahan Monday night, the stars were out. Angelina looked extra elegant in her white dress and beige heels.

Benjamin Button, adapted from a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, tells the story of a New Orleans man (Pitt) who is born in his 80s and ages backwards. The film follows his life through two wars and a great romance (with Oscar winner ), and also includes scenes set in New Orleans on the eve of Hurricane Katrina.

New Benjamin Button poster 02

Check out these new promo posters featuring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett for their new reverse-aging love tale, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

The film is directed by David Fincher, the guy responsible for Panic Room, 7even and my favorite of all times – Fight Club.

Button is imagery wizard David Fincher’s big-canvas play for mass acceptance, and he’s fashioned an effects-laden but character-driven epic that recalls the sweetly doomed, emotional glamour of Hollywood’s golden era.”

Have you ever thought how fast can one earn a sum to buy a mansion? For some it’s a matter of hours.

Some high profiled celebrities even earn money when they are sleeping. Literally.

Here’s the top 10 list by our beloved money-counter Forbes.

Cate Blanchett

The actress is better known for her acting skills than her box office draw. She has been nominated for five Oscars. But she stumbled in the list with her 2003 movie The Missing, which earned only $38 million in worldwide box office but cost approximately $65 million to produce. For every dollar Blanchett was paid, the film lost $2.94. She did better with Babel, in which she played ’s injured wife. The film grossed $135 million worldwide, $13.20 for every dollar Blanchett earned.

For every dollar she was paid, Cate Blanchett’s movies averaged $4.97 of gross income.

Nicole Kidman

Kidman has an Oscar and earns $15 million paydays, but she’s proved to offer a poor return on investment. Despite bringing in $370 million in worldwide box office, The Golden Compass only grossed $3.36 for every dollar Kidman was paid. The Invasion lost $2.68 for every dollar that went to Kidman. She has a chance for a high-profile comeback with this fall’s epic Australia, which could earn the Aussie her third best actress nomination.

For every dollar she was paid, Nicole Kidman’s movies averaged $1 of gross income.

Jennifer Garner

Garner has stayed fairly under the radar since her 2005 big-budget disaster Elektra, which cost $40 million to make and earned only $56 million worldwide. Unfortunately for Garner her follow-up films didn’t do much better. Both Catch and Release and The Kingdom underperformed at the box office.

For every dollar she was paid, Jennifer Garner’s movies averaged $3.60 of gross income.

Tom Cruise

His recent cameo as a foul-mouthed studio exec in Tropic Thunder is earning raves and might usher in the era of Tom Cruise comedies. In the meantime, Cruise has to deal with the fallout from his recent dramatic blunder, Lions for Lambs. The film’s box office ($63 million worldwide) was bad enough that even without taking any upfront pay Cruise still earned the movie only $1.88 for every dollar he was paid.

For every dollar he was paid, Tom Cruise’s movies averaged $4 of gross income.

Cameron Diaz

The highest paid actress in Hollywood, Diaz pulled in $50 million last year. But her high salary makes it hard for the romantic comedies she stars in to earn a good return. The Holiday brought in $205 million worldwide but Diaz’s high payday meant the film only grossed $3.70 for every dollar Diaz was paid.

For every dollar she was paid, Cameron Diaz’s movies averaged $4 of gross income.

Jennifer Lopez

The singer/actress/designer has struggled at the box office for the past few years, choosing small projects like 2006’s El Cantante, a low-budget musical biopic starring her husband Marc Anthony, which barely registered at the box office. Her last big film was 2005’s Monster-in-Law, which grossed $155 million worldwide returning $6.85 for every dollar J Lo was paid.

For every dollar she was paid, Jennifer Lopez’s movies averaged $4.10 of gross income.

Jim Carrey

Long gone are the days when Carrey could attract crowds with his talking backside. The actor’s latest attempt at a serious film, last year’s The Number 23, flopped at the box office, earning only $77 million worldwide. Carrey has a chance to turn things around with this winter’s Yes Man. Carrey has so much faith in the comedy that he reportedly took no money upfront for his starring performance.

For every dollar he was paid, Jim Carrey’s movies averaged $4.11 of gross income.

2007 was a year of highs and lows for . Book of Secrets, the sequel to Cage’s 2004 hit National Treasure, grossed $456 million worldwide. The sci-fi thriller Next, released that spring, brought in only $73 million. The movie lost 50 cents for every dollar Cage was paid.

For every dollar he was paid, ’s movies averaged $4.16 of gross income.

Drew Barrymore

Barrymore has been unlucky at the box office recently despite the title of her last film: Lucky You. The movie grossed a mere $8 million in worldwide box office, which means it lost 17 cents for every dollar Barrymore was paid. Maybe that’s why she’s taking a bigger role behind the camera. She’s currently directing her first film, Whip It!, about a female roller derby league.

For every dollar she was paid, Drew Barrymore’s movies averaged $4.38 of gross income.

Will Ferrell

The former Saturday Night Live star did well with high-grossing comedies like Blades of Glory. The sports tale grossed $4.95 for every dollar Ferrell was paid. But he stumbled with his more serious turn in 2006’s Stranger Than Fiction, which grossed $53 million in worldwide box office, only $1.63 for every dollar Ferrell was paid.

For every dollar he was paid, Will Ferrell’s movies averaged $4.67 of gross income.

Now, that’s with Hollywood. Let’s talk some serious talk right here.

Bill Gates

Bill Gates makes so much money from sales of computer operating systems that he wouldn’t have to think twice about upgrading his PC.

Even Windows Vista Ultimate, which has a list price of $319.95, would require the equivalent of about 2.4 seconds’ worth of earnings for the world’s richest man, who is estimated to be worth about $59 billion.

Someone who makes a living helping people cope with computer operating systems would need a lot more time to earn enough to buy the priciest version of Windows Vista. It would take a typical computer-support specialist about 14.7 hours to earn enough.

Here you go!

Have a wonderful day, people!

Cause I personally hate this feeling, like being hanged in the air like being controlled from outside and unable to do my thing. Generally, who the hell was the first to come up with the idea of control? And the more important question, why do we need it? If I wanna do something I'll do it anyway and either way, and if I do it breaking some rules, escaping the CONTROL, then the feeling would just get better and the victory would just feel sweeter. So why do we need control and sort of submission it takes a long. What sort of bdsm pleasure is that supposed to give?

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)
