‘Eclipse’ and ‘The Last Airbender’ lead 2011 Golden Raspberry Awards

Global love and box office success have failed to help these movies avoid the Razzies this year – Twilight Saga: Eclipse and The Last Airbender lead the nominees at this year’s 31st Annual Golden Raspberry Awards that traditionally honors the worst movies, actors and directors of the year and announces the winners the day before the Oscars.

Razzies founder John Wilson says that he finds The Last Airbender absolutely “illogical” while choosing between a vampire and a werewolf is one of the most stupid choices made in movie history ever, according to him.

I know people who are into Twilight who take it totally seriously and they’re very vociferous. Those of us who are not ‘Twi-hards’, we don’t get it. I don’t actually know any teenage girls who have had to make the choice between a werewolf and a vampire,” John Wilson said about Eclipse that’s mentioned in 8 categories this year including the worst movie, the worst director, the worst screenplay and the worst screen ensemble.

All of this gobbledygook language about airbenders and fire benders and water benders. You feel like you’re on a bender watching the movie,” Wilson added about The Last Airbender that’s also up for 8 golden raspberries this year.

While these movies lead the noms, the likes of Sex And The City 2 and The Bounty Hunter are also listed in a number of categories.

Eclipse‘s Kristen Stewart is up for the worst actress, while her handsome co-stars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson will compete in the worst actor category.

The cast of SATC 2, Jennifer Aniston, Megan Fox and Miley Cyrus also stand all chances to win the worst actress at the 31st annual Golden Raspberry Awards on February 26, 2011.
