OMG! That was fantastic, wasn’t it?
This year’s 81st Annual Academy Awards were definitely among the most memorable! So many stars on the redcarpet, so much fashion and glam…
I can’t put into words how glad I was when Kate Winslet got the Best Actress award for The Reader. She had to go a long way of 5 noms to get the so long-awaited golden statuette.
Congrats, Kate!

Slumdog Millionaire was the ultimate winner of the night taking the main awards for best film, best director, best screen play, best cinematography. All in all, Millionaire took home 8 Oscars out of 8 it was nominated for.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button led in nominations for the 2009 Oscars but ended up with 4 wins. Not so bad, anyway.

Neither Brad Pitt, nor Angelina Jolie got the Best Actor award. Actually, these last two months weren’t pretty successful in getting awards for the couple. But as some people like to say, participation is what matters, right?
And one more important thing. This year’s Oscar is the second time in The Awards’ history when a late actor gets a posthumous Oscar. Heath Ledger was awarded Best Supporting Actor for the Joker in The Dark Knight.
I was backing him, well, practically everyone was backing him.
As it was reported long before the ceremony, Ledger’s statuette will be given to his daughter Matilda, now 3, when she turns 18.
