Taylor Lautner is Not Gay!

Twilight star Taylor Lautner has fallen victim to an internet fraud. The cyber world was buzzing when what appeared to be a genuine People magazine cover emerged online that showed the actor announcing that he’s out and proud.But a spokesperson for the American People confirmed that the cover is nothing but falsehood:

It’s ridiculous and it’s an absolute fake.”

Many fans were fooled by the Photoshop fake, which it dated January 7, 2012. It used a fake quote from the 19-year-old, saying he is gay and ‘tired of the rumours.’ He was quoted as saying he felt more liberated, and happier than I’ve ever been. Even fellow celebrity Russell Simmons, the Def Jam star was taken in and tweeted his congratulations to the actor:

Proud of Taylor Lautner for his bravery and his courage.”

But later, after realising the mistake, Simmons tweeted:

Disappointed that people would joke about someone coming out about their sexuality. Let Taylor Lautner be whoever he wants to be…”

The fake cover used a side bar of Brad Pitt and Carnie Wilson from a May 2006 People cover. Taylor Lautner denied he was gay in a new interview in the November issue of GQ Australia. In June, Lautner dined with acclaimed director Gus Van Sant and Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, both of whom happen to be gay. GQ Australia’s reporter asked about the night out and, rather strangely, whether Black, 37, or Van Sant, 59, hit on him. Lautner answered:

No, definitely not.I think they know I’m straight. But they’re great guys. They’re a lot of fun.”

As for his personal life, Lautner was recently linked to his Abduction co-star Lily Collins, 22, and also dated singer Taylor Swift, and allegedly dated Selena Gomez.
