Oprah’s problem with lesbian sex

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy, the $40 million boarding school for disadvantaged girls near Johannesburg is at the center of sex scandal.

Seven pupils have been suspended from the school, after being accused of “touching girls’ private parts and having sexual relationships with other students.”

Several months ago the school was rocked by another scandal of the same nature. That time, it was “an internal inquiry was launched based on a claim of misconduct involving a dormitory parent,” CNN reports.

According to a Cape Town newspaper, the dorm parent allegedly grabbed a pupil by the throat and threw her against a wall. Girls at the school also claimed that the matron swore and screamed at the girls and assaulted them.

I’m disappointed that several of our students chose to disregard the school’s rules. It’s disheartening when any student has to be suspended or expelled and it’s a process that involves serious review and consideration. We insist on maintaining a campus environment that commands mutual respect, fosters academic excellence and encourages learners to fulfill their best potential. Indiscretions resulting in disciplinary action are common in schools all over the world. Unfortunately, because of my name these common infractions place the Academy in the media spotlight,” Oprah’s statement reads.

One of the girls suspended, 15, claims the accusations are false, and it’s jealous girls who spread the rumors.

The academy opened in January 2007 with a student body made up of some of South Africa’s poorest children. The school provides its 450 students with textbooks, uniforms and meals.
