During her concert in Rome pop queen dedicated her song to Pope Benedict. You guessed the song, right? Yes, it was one of her classics ‘Like a Virgin’.
The dedication was made just a few kilometers from the Vatican as she sang for 60 thousand of fans who also sang it along with her at the capital’s Stadio Olimpico on Saturday night. Perhaps, the Vatican couldn’t sleep because of her.
This was her only day in Italy of the Sticky & Sweet world tour.

La Repubblica, Italian daily newspaper reports that Madonna said:
I dedicate this song to the Pope, because we are all children of God.”
Other reports say she said:
I dedicate this song to the Pope, because I’m a child of God. All of you are also children of God.”
No comment. Smile! We all know Madonna’s love for arousing ire of the Roman Catholic Church.
Two years ago, the 50-year-old was criticized by Vatican for staging a mock crucifixion at a concert in the city’s Olympic Stadium. The history of using religious imagery goes far in the past.
In her controversial performances back in1989 video for the song ‘Like A Prayer’ she featured burning crosses, statues crying blood and Madonna seducing a black Jesus.

The tour will end in Sao Paolo, Brazil on September, 18th.
