Israeli Army boycotts Bar Refaeli
Bar is probably a pacifist but the Israeli Army doesn’t care.
Israel’s armed forces urge people to boycott Bar Refaeli, 24, by not buying products she promotes. The Army is outraged the lingerie and swimsuit model has been avoiding military service for years.
At the end of the day, she is the one who has to look at herself in the mirror,” Armed forces human resources director Avi Zamir is quoted as saying. “We are a society that has an army, and Bar Refaeli doesn’t have to participate in ads for [Israeli clothing company] Fox and, if she advertises Fox, then you shouldn’t buy their products.”
Bar got an exception from military service by getting married in 2007, TheDailyMail.co.uk reported. She divorced soon after but hasn’t joined the army anyway.
Refaeli’s mom fired back saying people were just envious of Bar’s success:
Bar will continue succeeding. We are the sort of people who do and succeed, and they will continue talking.”
