Since 1992, Vanity Fair magazine does Vanities section featuring a full-page portrait of a promising young star. Here are the latest women in film industry who have it all to make it to having their names on the Walk of Fame. Here is a fastidious pick of four girls out of Vanity Fair’s 24.

Kristen Stewart

Age: 17

Provenance: North Hollywood, California.

You first glimpsed her as … Jodie Foster’s doppelgänger daughter in Panic Room (2002). “[Director] David Fincher does a lot of takes,” Stewart says:

There was this one scene we must have done, like, 80 times. I didn’t know that it wasn’t the norm. Now I wouldn’t be as chill with it … “

Because now she’s a prolific industry veteran, with four films due out this year. Namely, In the Land of Women, The Messengers, The Cake Eaters (the directorial debut of Mary Stuart Masterson, with Stewart in the lead role), and Sean Penn’s Into the Wild, based on the Jon Krakauer book. But is this the life for her? Not necessarily:

I want to go to college for literature. I want to be a writer. I mean, I love what I do, but it’s not all I want to do—be a professional liar for the rest of my life.”

Still, Kristen’s no brooder: “I love big-band music, and I’m taking swing classes now. I can’t wait till I’m going to be able to be tossed up in the air.”

Emily Blunt

Age: 23

Provenance: London.

You know her as … the cold-eyed young Brit who stole The Devil Wears Prada, delivering the performance most comically evocative of what editorial assistants are really like at … oh, certain publishing companies we’ve heard of. “I kind of knew that girl—she’s a total impersonation of various people whom I would find personally excruciating,” says Blunt, who is also a 2007 Golden Globe winner for her performance in the BBC drama Gideon’s Daughter.

But what I liked about that character was that there was the opportunity to glimpse something beyond sarcasm. There’s a vulnerability that’s transparent to me, when someone defines herself just by having an association with someone else.”

And you’ll know her better still after you see her this year in … Wind Chill, a thriller produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh (”I literally went from wearing Manolos to huge snow boots covered in blood and mud”); The Great Buck Howard, with John Malkovich, Tom Hanks, and Colin Hanks; Dan in Real Life, in which she gets to “have a dance-off” with Steve Carell; and The Jane Austen Book Club, an ensemble piece in which Blunt plays “a total nerd—a different part for me, because I often play the fast-talking, manipulative sort of character.” Extraordinary, considering that …

I had a really bad stutter as a child. It never occurred to me that I would want to be on the stage, because I couldn’t even bloody talk. My parents tried everything: I had speech therapy, I had [recordings of] dolphins squeaking at me at night to try and relax me, cranial osteopathy, everything you could do. And then I had a rather wonderful teacher who encouraged me to do the class play when I was about 12. I think he had the faith in me that I’d rise to the occasion. Or maybe he just had the smarts to say, ‘Why don’t you be someone else?’”

And now she’s smooth-talked her way into a relationship with swingin’ singer Michael Bublé: “It’s wonderful. I love him. We met at some awards ceremony and I was a bit of a fan and I told him, and he liked compliments, obviously.”

Hayden Panettiere

Age: 17

Provenance: Rockland County, New York.

Currently serving humankind as … Claire, “the Cheerleader,” on NBC’s breakout hit Heroes. “[The show] just sort of plopped in my lap,” Panettiere says:

I was walking out of a general meeting with NBC, and they were like, ‘Oh, hey, by the way, read this’—this script with a cockroach running across the front of it. And I read it, and it was amazing.”

Look out, Mandy Moore: Panettiere’s debut album, for which she co-wrote most of the songs, comes out this spring.

My [day] job is to portray people who are not myself, and this is sort of getting to portray a little bit of me.” What happens to college plans when you have a hit series at 17? “I’ve got 15 alumni from Duke University in my family. I absolutely want to go to college, but I don’t know if it’s going to work out with this series. [To her mom, Lesley] How long are we on contract? [Mom says, "I think it's six years."] Oh my God, I’ll be 23!”

Age: 22

But you’ll see her next as Meryl Streep’s daughter in the screen adaptation of Mamma Mia! “She’s the coolest human being ever,” says Seyfried of her on-camera mom. She didn’t treat me like I was younger. She respected me. I couldn’t ask for anything better.” Diablo rising: Next up for Seyfried is Jennifer’s Body, the latest project from multi-tattooed Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody.

I play the nerdy best friend of Jennifer, who becomes a zombie. I’m like the heroine of the movie. I have to try to save the small town we live in.”

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Connelly is to be one of the faces of Revlon. Revlon’s CEO said:

Forbes has released their latest list for the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, and this year’s winner is Will Smith. Last year Will made $80 million beating Johnny Depp who made $74 million, and Eddie Murphy, who made $55 million.

The list is based on who banks the most between June 1st 2007 through June 1st 2008.

A recluse, two lazy middle-aged step-brothers, and a couple of special agents will be a great company for the July 25 Friday night. These are main heroes of Friday big movie premieres. Pick the one you like most and get ready for the show time!

The truth is still out there though it’s been 6 years since we saw Mulder and Scully last. The X-Files: I Want to Believe is the second full-length movie about FBI special agents fighting against the governmental conspiracy and the world of paranormal activity around.

The flick looks into the unexpected wonders of the everyday: faithless man finds hope, a hopeless man finds love.

Step Brothers shows us equally lazy and spoiled, rich feuding middle-aged step-siblings (Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly) in this summer comedy about how these guys don’t get along after their parents tie the knot.

They’re forced to live under the same roof and share each other’s lives, and eventually they tear the family apart. Now it’s up to these immature, overgrown boys to bring their parents back together again.

According to a recent Billboard story, record labels have picked up more than $5 million from federal, state and local prison systems since 2003. Meaning a million each year. Although that figure may seem small, Bob Paris of North Hollywood-based Pack Central says “I have dodged every conventional bullet that has hit most music retailers. I don’t have to worry about downloading, legal or illegally.”

Amy didn’t show up to see husband Blake Fielder-Civil being sentenced yesterday but his rumored girlfriend was in floods of tears outside the court.

Blonde German model of 21 years old, what did she find in that messy man? Sophie Schandorff was obviously distraught after the hearing.

Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in prison for grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.

26 years old husband of ‘Love Is a Losing Game’ singer Amy Winehouse will be free by Christmas, he has already bee imprisoned for 9 months. Fielder-Civil admitted assaulting James King, 36, outside a pub and then plotting to bribe his victim in a £200,000 deal not to testify in court. Judge David Radford told the convict:

You behaved in a gratuitous, cowardly and disgraceful way.”

At the last hearing Amy was seen blowing kisses to her husband but this time she didn’t show up at all. Though her car and driver were ready from 8am, Amy remained to be in her home in Camden, North-West London.

Amy was probably hungover from the night before and good she didn’t go to that hearing. Nobody appreciates her there anyways. Especially Blake’s bitchy mother Charlotte Fielder-Civil… Though, if I had my son date someone like Amy would I be supportive of that? I don’t think so.

Blake’s lawyer Jeremy Dein QC said to the court:

Despite the war of words around them, Mr Fielder-Civil and Miss Winehouse are very much committed to each other. It is their ambition to divorce themselves from hard drugs - not to separate themselves from each other.”

Eva Longoria Parker and Cristián de la Fuente hold a press conference on the set of Desperate Housewives to announce the 2008 ALMA Awards press conference which took its place at Wisteria Lane, Universal Studios Back Lot / Universal City, CA.

Longoria looked demure dressed in a frilly pale pink sleeveless lace dress with a ruffled hem. The dress had a solid satin high neck and a matching sash at the waist. She accessorized with teardrop earrings and pearly pink peep toe pumps. Her dark brown bob cut hair styled with a low side parting looked chic. A little heavy makeup was a good match overall.

Yesterday on July 21, 2008 Eva Longoria looked svelte at a press conference to announce the 2008 ALMA Awards. There were rumors that Eva is pregnant after the photograph of Desperate Housewives star in a bikini off the coast of Italy. The 33 year old actress denied the rumors explaining she had to put on some weight to play Gabriel this season.

This season’s Gabriel will change a lot from the slim fancy looking shopoholic to an overworked exhausted mother of two children in the upcoming season of the TV series. Eva says she is keen to be a real life mother too.

As for her morning press conference appearance, Eva will be returning as executive producer and host of the ALMA Awards show, which will be taped August 17th at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, and will include a special presentation to Linda Ronstadt, Shakira, and Narciso Rodriguez.

The ALMA (American Latino Media Arts) Awards are honoring Latino performers (actors, film and television directors, and musicians) who promote positive portrayals of Latin talent in the entertainment field. In Spanish alma means spirit or soul.

The 2008 ALMA Awards will air on ABC September 12th to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month and will include appearances from the Black Eyed Peas, Jessica Alba, Carlos Mencia, and America Ferrera.

Ne-Yo has revealed that he wrote a bunch of songs for Britney but then decided to have Pussycat Dolls Nicole Scherzinger sing them instead of Spears.

The R&B star told OK! Magazine he was asked to write several tracks for Brit’s album before her infamous meltdown last year. But according to Ne-Yo, he was tired of waiting for Britney Spears to show up in the studio and, eventually, he picked Nicole from PCD to sing those songs, besides, Brit’s people stopped returning his calls at all.

”We set up multiple sessions where she was supposed to actually come in and give her input on the songs, but she never showed up,” the singer told Britain’s Guardian newspaper.

In the meantime, Ne-Yo met Ms. Scherzinger who said she’d love the tracks for her solo project.

”And when news of that came out,” Ne-Yo added, “then Britney’s people call me! ‘Hey! What’s going on? Why’re you giving away Britney’s music?’ I’m like, ‘Wait! Until y’all cut me a cheque, I’m givin’ away my music. It may’ve been written with Britney in mind, but it’s not hers.”

Guess those could be great songs for Britney’s album and generally for her career. Now she is reported to be upset with Ne-Yo, but you know what Brit? He doesn’t care!

Exceeding any possible expectations Batman: The Dark Knight went on to shatter records left and right this weekend.

The film is now the biggest debut ever in U.S. box office history.

Beating the reigning champ Spider-Man 3, The Dark Knight set box-office records this weekend, bringing in more than $155 million from the widest opening ever - 4,366 theaters through Friday to Sunday.

The film is great, Heath Ledger played his best role ever, but nonetheless the greatest success in the box office history must be for the sad fact that Heath Ledger died. Actor’s sorrowful death brought the film its legendary fame.

Now The Dark Knight is poised to take on all-time champs like Titanic, which earned more than $600 million.

Heath, you will always be in our hearts.
