Ne-Yo has revealed that he wrote a bunch of songs for Britney but then decided to have Pussycat Dolls Nicole Scherzinger sing them instead of Spears.
The R&B star told OK! Magazine he was asked to write several tracks for Brit’s album before her infamous meltdown last year. But according to Ne-Yo, he was tired of waiting for Britney Spears to show up in the studio and, eventually, he picked Nicole from PCD to sing those songs, besides, Brit’s people stopped returning his calls at all.
”We set up multiple sessions where she was supposed to actually come in and give her input on the songs, but she never showed up,” the singer told Britain’s Guardian newspaper.
In the meantime, Ne-Yo met Ms. Scherzinger who said she’d love the tracks for her solo project.
”And when news of that came out,” Ne-Yo added, “then Britney’s people call me! ‘Hey! What’s going on? Why’re you giving away Britney’s music?’ I’m like, ‘Wait! Until y’all cut me a cheque, I’m givin’ away my music. It may’ve been written with Britney in mind, but it’s not hers.”
Guess those could be great songs for Britney’s album and generally for her career. Now she is reported to be upset with Ne-Yo, but you know what Brit? He doesn’t care!
