I can’t even say which video I like more. Both are unprecedentedly awesome but in different ways.
Ex lovers Chris Brown and Rihanna have both presented their latest videos the same day. Chris is here with ‘Crawl’ featuring fellow R & B singer Cassie, and Rihanna presents her ‘Russian Roulette’.
Really, both videos are great and it’s hard to say who actually wins this video battle. ‘Crawl’ is ultimately romantic and ‘Russian Roulette’ is dramatically emotional in a very edgy way, making your heart beat faster in anticipation.
No doubt, both videos seem very personal with a story behind each of them. Looks like the one thing they share is This story.
The entire video for ‘Crawl’ was [Chris Brown's] idea,” ‘Crawl’ director Joseph Kahn told MTV. “And it’s pretty awesome. It’s an interesting video for me, because it’s so rare that music videos ever try to achieve anything emotional. With ‘Crawl’ you feel it in here.
Chris just basically told me a story of what he felt this video was going to be, with his heart glowing and how he’s, like, cold. It is a very personal story. But it’s told in such a graphic manner that I fell in love with the idea. It’s Chris’ story. Period. I am the pencil that put it down on the paper.”
