Lady GaGa’s copycat Kerli in new video ‘Army of Love’

It’s just the second time I write about Kerli on this blog. Kerli, an Estonian singer who was brought to my attention earlier this year after accusing Lady GaGa of ripping off her style, has released a new video for new single ‘Army of Love.’

Well, maybe there were times when Kerli and GaGa did look alike due to love of yellow hair and stuff, but these times are over. Kerli’s new style has nothing to do with Lady GaGa’s. Yes, Kerli is extravagant. Yes, Kerli is brave in her fashion choices. No, she’s not Lady GaGa.

In the new video ‘Army Of Love’ Kerli is wearing the all white outfit completed with like 14-inch platform boots, snow-white hair and face glitter.

I really wanted to create a visual that started from the ashes and grew into something more epic, like representing an idea or a dream that becomes a reality when you really decide to go for it,” Kerli said about the ‘Army of Love’ video.

Kerli says the costumes for the video resemble those aliens could possibly wear but I definitely feel GaGa’s influence – all those hot pants and platforms, and crazy head pieces and accessories.

Who’s the copycat now? You tell me!

   Are you serious? Not only has Gaga ripped off Kerli look after look after they were on the same label and Gaga got dropped, but the picture you posted was a still from a Kerli video that was shot and released before Gaga had even come out. This is pathetic.

   honestly, dear writer, get your dates and research right before you start accusing someone of being a copycat. little google research will show u kerli in 2006 and gaga in 2006. it is so frustrating how people are all under a gaga spell and dont realise the facts that right under their stupid noses.

   Those pants are like the country ones and everybody has seen them. Fact is Kerli was long before Gaga, her videos came out before gagas her album as well.
   You won’t see gaga with elf ears ever, the shoes are worn before either of them were on the screen.
   Fact is that their songs are really different, the lyrics and sonic landscapes are distinct. I don’t get it why people try to compare them.
   I saw how gaga ripped off some undergrounds model style and she even did the same positions for her photoshoot. It’s clearly that she gets inspired from different artist. A morfe appropriate comparison will be between gaga and madonna.
   and the thing is that you can get to know kerli preaty easily and after you get her i don’t ythink you’ll be able to even dream comparing them.

   I like Kerli more, definitely. Her voice sounds better, she looks beautiful in her outfits while GaGa just looks awkward and like she’s trying too had in almost all of hers.

    Kerli and her dancer are all dressed in an all white version of cybergoths. Platform boots, crazy hair, the masks, etc. Kerli is inspired by the Goth scene, she tried a Gothic Lolita style, most noticeable in her video “Walking on Air” and now is trying a more cyber and industrial style, that’s why her music is more electro oriented and feature this theme of “army” wich is loved by cybers and ravers

    I think Kerli is better than gaga, i think she has a better sound, and her voice is more adaptive. GaGa is good but i personaly like Kerli, oh and Kerli has been around longer than gaga with her song ‘walking on air’, so i think you should be calling gaga the “copycat”

    Kerli got her first record contract when she was 14 – ten years ago. When Lady Gaga was 14 she was only singing Karaoke.

    Kerli and Lady Gaga aren’t even the same style.

    Gaga has admitted to being a Kerli fan.

    6 years ago Kerli and Gaga were in the same place as one another. Gaga in a sundress, and Kerli in latex and six inch heels.

    Gaga is more about sex, Kerli is more about Love.

    Gaga grew up in a loving household in the US. Kerli grew up in Estonia – who didn’t get out of the USSR’s griphold until she was 4 or 5. She grew up fighting a system of nothing but hate and supression.

    Kerli made the shoes she wears in Army of Love, and makes alot of her own accessories, her mother used to make their clothes – she learned from it.

    Kerli has lived in three countries trying to follow her dreams and had two contracts fall under her.

    Who deserves the fame? Who sings to the hearts? Who’s more original? Who’s the light of her homeland?

    P.S. Her albums are influenced on her mood. Kerli’s first album was written when she was struggling with depression. Her second one, which doesn’t even have Army of Love [it was a freebie for the fans to thank them and tell them she loves them], is more bubbly and happy and is a concept album.

    Gaga only knows how to sell something. I don’t like her, her old stuff (not on her past two cds) was great – I don’t like the Lady Gaga of today though.

    Who tells their fans (alot of whom are children) that she can only write while high?

    A real artist writes from within, not under the influence.

    P.S. look up all of Kerli’s internet releases. She’s got tons of music she’s released or had leaked, and she’s done demos for people like Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.

    People wear white clothes in videos, white is very in right now.
    The accesories are more visual-k so if she got the inspiration somewhere it’s from asian culture.
    Platforms, she had them ever since 2008 and even earlier.
    crazy head things are waaay back from the 90′s, and artists like Gwen Stefani, natasha Khan use them and so many more.
    The thing is nothing is new, just the fact that they are all together is new.
    You should get your facts straight before posting accusing thoughts on the internet, and try to be less judgemental.
