This is the most original way to dispel all the ‘GaGa is a man’ rumors. In the 9-minute long preview of her newest video for ‘Telephone’ Lady Gaga goes almost completely full front naked before the camera.
Really wild but pretty convincing.
‘Telephone’ is a follow-up to her previous video ‘Paparazzi’ at the end of which she poisons her boyfriend. The new video opens up with the scene of GaGa being thrown into the prison cell.
The full preview includes scenes of nudity, mass murder, girl-girl kiss and those with Beyoncé Knowles.
Love the video though it definitely goes far beyond what we’re used to seeing in pop videos on TV.
Lady GaGa says the video conception was inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s movies and was directed by the same guy that shot the ‘Paparazzi’ video and, as well as many of her vids, co-written by GaGa herself.
That’s what GaGa has to say about her new masterpiece:
There was this really amazing quality in ‘Paparazzi,’ where it kind of had this pure pop music quality but at the same time it was a commentary on fame culture. In its own way, even at certain points working with Jonas really achieved this high art quality in the way that it was shot. I wanted to do the same thing with this video – take a decidedly pop song, which on the surface has a quite shallow meaning, and turn it into something deeper.
There’s certainly always a hidden message in my music videos. But I would say most predominately, I’m always trying to convolute everyone’s idea of what a pop music video should be.
There certainly is a Tarantino-inspired quality in the video. I mostly love the way he uses different forms to create something new.”
What can I say, love the costumes, love the way GaGa startles us all with every new thing she does and love the way she provokes us again and again.
