From Around The Web: Spice Girls Reunite For Eurovision-2012?

Eurovision is considered to be one of the most significant song contests in Europe. However such countries as the UK or France are not that successful in the event surprisingly. Last year a British band, Blue, got only the 11th position in Eurovision held in Germany. For saving the deplorable situation, Spice Girls’ ex-Ginger, Geri Halliwell, plans to reunite the legendary band.

In 2007, Spice Girls reunited for Reunion Tour. Commenting on their show, Geri Halliwell noted,

Obviously it’s nostalgic. But equally, if new fans want to come along, that’s fantastic. We ARE girl power. It doesn’t matter how old you are, 5 or 65. I like to think our songs are universal and they are timeless.

Earlier Melanie C mentioned about the chance to take part in the European contest,

I’d like to go, it looks like good fun

It will be recalled that their first single Wannabe was a chart topper in over 30 countries. Besides, the band’s debut album, Spice, sold more than 23 million copies all over the globe, and it is considered as the best-selling album by a female group in music history.

So, hopefully they’ll succeed. 2012 Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Baku (Azerbaijan).
