Alex Band releases new album ‘We’ve All Been There’ today!
I remember I loved ‘Wherever You Will Go’, I thought it was like an anthem of true love of 2002, and I was crazy about the video (the “good” guy, to be exact). It was The Calling era. That era is over. Now it’s time for Alex Band.
Alex Band is back with a brand new album, his first music effort in five years called We’ve All Been There. The solo album is released TODAY!
The first single from the album, ‘Tonight’, has been used in the CW series The Vampire Diaries and can be heard in the TV campaign for this summer’s World Cup.
The song describes a supernatural love story between a vampire and a mortal girl.
I didn’t want to write a conventional love song,” Alex Band said in one of his interviews. “I wanted it to have some weirder meaning—and this was before the resurgence of the vampire love story, but I’d just seen the movie Underworld, and I thought it would be cool and different to write about a vampire trying to win over this girl and to be able to have her for one night. So that led to lines like, ‘Let the music take us over/We’ll fall into forever, all is right/’Cause I got you where I want you/Tonight.’”

In interview with Hollywood Dame, Alex Band says his new album is really special because of the songs it contains as they make his the new effort different from other artists’ in his genre.
[The songwriting is] lush and timeless. I think it’s a good representation of that. ‘Wherever You Go’ is still played and that was released 10 years ago. I write songs that are big, compassionate, and heartfelt.”
Make sure to grab a copy of We’ve All Been There and catch Alex Band on tour starting July 14th!
Alex Band is definitely GlamourVanity.com’s favorite artist of this summer!
FYI, Billboard recently named ‘Wherever You Will Go,’ the #1 Adult Pop Song of the Decade.
