2010-oscar-nominations

Nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards were announced yesterday by Academy President Tom Sherak and actress . During the ceremony the duo announced all the contenders in 10 of the 24 categories.

According to the Academy, Avatar and The Hurt Locker get most of the nods scoring 9 nominations each, including the best picture, best director, best cinematography, best music, best sound mixing and editing, and best film editing.

Ironically enough, Avatar director and The Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow are real life husband and wife.

The 2010 Academy Awards will air March 7, 2010 at 8/7c on ABC. Steve Martin and will serve as co-hosts of the event.
