First Look at Madonna’s Shoe Line

Madonna is working her teeth and nail for marketing her name and brand. First there was her and her daughter Lourdes’Material Girl clothing line, then she presented a Truth or Dare fragrance collection at Macy’s. And now comes the news that the pop icon is also launching a line of Truth of Dare shoes as part of her celebrity brand that will gradually include clothing, intimates, accessories, body care, etc.

Madonna launched her Truth or Dare shoe line which is pretty expensive!

Madonna’s business partners say her shoe line isn’t just about her celebrity. Neil Cole, CEO of Iconix Brand Group Footwear says:

I don’t really look at it as a celebrity line. The fact that Madonna is our partner is an added twist.”

It’s probably a good thing he feels that way. Her Truth or Dare fragrance reportedly targets women age 27 to 50. I wonder if women – who were fans of hers in the ‘80s – will want to wear shoes like this now that they’re, (like Madonna) over 50. Time will show anyway.

So, on her shoe line. There are over 60 styles in the footwear line being produced in collaboration with the Aldo Group. And Madonna’s footwear will range in price from $89 to $349!

Madonna’s personal stylist and W.E. costume designer Arianne Phillips will serve as creative consultant. Phillips certainly knows the diva’s taste and style, as she’s Madge’s long-time friend too. Phillips says:

Her fingers are really on this brand. The first thing I did was remind her of all the shoes she wore over the years, and we took the styles that we can’t live without. You can always depend on her to bring her style and provocateur quality, but she also has a very feminine perspective.”

The shoe collection will be available at such big retailers Nordstrom, Asos.com and Macy’s, which also was the launch partner for Madonna’s first retail project: the Material Girl line that hit in August 2010.

These stores will promote the Truth or Dare brand as well as Selfridges in the U.K., The Bay in Canada.
