How many times you were told something like: ‘Ooh, you’ve gone bright red’, or ‘I could warm my hands off you’….? I am talking about blushing, which I thought was the worst thing that could happen to a girl always in the wrong moment. I decided to write about blushing because it is a near daily occurrence for me. I will turn pink at almost anything that makes me feel a little uncomfortable. I think it is just embarrassing at times when you can’t control yourself of not getting blushed. So, I was googling yesterday to find any useful tips to get rid of blushing and guess what? I found an interesting article about blushing that I decided to share with you in case you have the same issue.
So the article talks about the studies and experiments conducted in California, which apparently revealed that:
We should be proud of our red faces. A new study has found people who blush easily are more generous, trustworthy and virtuous than those who don’t.
Cool isn’t it? The research initiator Matthew Feinberg, says:
Moderate levels of embarrassment are signs of virtue. You want to affiliate with embarrassed people more. You feel comfortable trusting them.
So here are some interesting facts that the researchers found:
- Blushing people are found as more trustworthy because of what the researchers call their ‘pro-sociability’ or positive behavior towards others.
- Blushers make better romantic partners, because those who were easily embarrassed reported higher levels of monogamy, according to the study.
- Scientists suspect that women have a greater tendency to blush than men, explaining it as way women prove to men that they are virtuous and ‘virginally innocent’.
- The plus thing about blushing also can be a non-verbal apology. For example when we blush after doing something socially embarrassing, our cute pinkish face will diffuse any aggression.
So if you find yourself blushing a lot, do not make a huge drama out of it! Because the more you worry about blushing, the more likely it is to happen.
After reading this article I convinced myself that you might be hot, pink, red and bothered, but to the rest of the world you look irresistibly attractive and cute. So stop panicking, you look gorgeous even blushed.
