Formerly known as Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has launched her dress collection during the on going New York Fashion Week and, believe it or not, it is one of the hottest runways this week.
Her debut collection of frocks is a success! The 10 dresses appear both curiously wearable and really rather fetching.
Her Ready To Wear Spring 2009 silhouettes are beyond body-conscious. They are ultra fitted for super skinny women tall or not so, but for sure slim - is the body to wear her below the knee dresses. Each of which comes with a woman-friendly detail as a rose-gold back zipper, meaning no messy hair. Also very delicate special seams along the derriere and torso ensure against flat rear ends and busts, which are common to slim silhouettes.
For a dramatizing posture Beckham comes up with a grosgrain ribbon lining the waist. Nicole Phelps says that collection owes a debt to Roland Mouret, “whose Galaxy dress gave curves to even the most skeletal of celebrities, or maybe Dolce & Gabbana.”
But Victoria denies the inspiration:
This has been a lifetime in the making. I don’t want to make dresses that will date. I’ve always been about clever buying.”
By the end of the day Victoria Beckham is an entrepreneur to be taken seriously. dVb denim and sunglasses, her fragrance, etc. But her sheaths and shift dresses will sell not on the power of her or her name but on the sophistication of their cut and fit.
I’ve been working on this for 34 years. I always wanted to be a fashion designer. Then along came the Spice Girls. I was never going to be the world’s best singer, but I hope I can be a good designer.”
The dresses range from $1,500 to $3,600.

”Structure – is a very important word to describe my collection,” said young designer. She was spotted with J Lo at the front row for Marc Jacobs‘ runway.
I love Vicky Becks again, especially her smoky, gothic eyes and a brand new brunette, elfin, spiky crop.
