Marc Jacobs activates desire for fashion defiance
This fall’s fashion collections have much in common – the tribal accent, the clean messiness and the parade of colours – emerald, eclectic aubergine, purple, orange and leopard-trimmed.
However, the last four weeks have come up with one very irresistible wardrobe piece.
The jacket – whether short, long, romantic, utility or constructive – always romatique! Why? Simply because jacket is so emblematic for Paris.
Sexy, saucy and full-on Parisian.
The detailed glamorous Louis Vuitton jackets designed by Marc Jacobs were wrapped, belted, cropped, stretched and padded.
From the floppy pajama pants to micro mini skirts – all evoking desire.
Ostrich feather skirts, leopard-pattern bags and decoratively beaded shoes evoked Africa.
This fall tribal was seen almost in every designer’s collection.
Tribal-art references came in necklaces, earrings, and stacks of bangles and amazing shoes loaded with sproutings of feathers and plastic collages of abstract African faces.
Marc Jacobs, in a three-piece suit with his hair slicked back, was stunning.
Out of all the American celebrities at the front row, the most exciting was the stud Lenny Kravitz!
He was accompanied by Kerry Washington.
