Lenny Kravitz Designs Shoe Collection For Toms

Rock star and actor Lenny Kravitz has teamed up with Toms’ Founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie! What for? Well, he’ll be a guest creative director; Lenny will design his own shoe collection. It was Kravitz his stylish daughter Zoe Kravitz who encouraged her dad to collaborate with Toms -Zoe is also a fan of the brand. Kravitz immediately fell in love with Toms‘ idea of donating a pair of shoes to someone in need for every shoe pair sold.

Lenny Kravitz launched new shoe collection for Toms as a guest designer.

Toms’ Founder and Chief Shoe Giver Mycoskie commented on this unexpected collaboration:

It was exciting and humbling to work with an icon like Lenny Kravitz and have the ability to share his story and inspiration through this season’s collection. It’s obvious that Lenny’s talent’s go way beyond music, and we’re thrilled that we had a chance to collaborate with him on some really great Toms.”

Now, Lenny is completely involved in every aspect of designing his shoe collection. For example, he is adding his own personal style from color to adding prints, including one decorated Let Love Rule, from his song. Kravitz says he wants to create a general vibe, through his clothes, decorating and broader lifestyle choices, to be comfortable, creative, engaging and inviting. He also says that since he has a strict no “street shoes” in the house rule, he stocks pairs for guests to wear in his homes.

By the way, Lenny has no problem looking for the same from passers-by. He says:

I love people watching. I love observing what people do and how they express themselves.”

Yes, iIt`s inspiring to see how people express themselves and how they twist things to make themselves unique, even if it`s something ver bold. But life is full of surprises. For example, Lenny has never expected to be part of The Hunger Games, taking on the stylist role of Cinna, who helps Jennifer Lawrence`s character cultivate an image through her clothes. Kravitz commented:

I had no idea The Hunger Games was so big, I didn`t even know the book. I had been living under my own rock. But then I read it, loved it. And it`s interesting to walk down the street and hear girls saying, ’Oh, that`s Cinna’ – and they have no idea about the music.”

Lenny is very glad for becoming a guest designer of Toms. He said:

Being a guest creative director for Toms was an exciting collaboration. I’ve been a longtime fan and admirer of the brand, not only for the quality of the product, but also for their social message and commitment to providing shoes to people in need.”
